We stayed here for a weekend as we were attending a family wedding at the hotel. It is a beautiful setting with lovely grounds, lots of places to sit and explore. The reception hall and staircase is lovely, a beautiful building to stay in.|We had a standard double room which was plenty big enough for a couple and our toddler, the hotel provided a travel cot which was very useful as we had flown into Gatwick. We got a taxi from Gatwick which only took 10mins, so it is very handy for the airport. It was a hot weekend so we had the windows open in the room and could hear the planes take off from about 5.30am but you wouldn't notice them if the windows were shut. |The rooms were relatively clean, perhaps need a second check as our bathroom bin hadn't been emptied which wasn't nice to discover, shower tiles hadn't been wiped and the room needed a good hoover in the corners of the carpet. |We had breakfast both mornings we were there and were a bit disappointed with the selection. Lots of hot food, cereals and pastries but there was only a bowl of fruit which was limited and no yoghurt. I'd expect for the price you pay to have more of a continental selection. It was hard to feed our toddler as he couldn't have fruit and yoghurt, we also asked for whole milk for his cereal which they didn't have. Perhaps something to consider when children are staying, just some loose fruit and natural yoghurt to provide more choice. |Overall it is a beautiful place to stay, very handy for Gatwick and a wonderful wedding venue. A couple of small improvements would earn the 5*!

We chose to stay here to be closer to Gatwick for an early morning flight, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The building and surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning. We learned it dates back to the 1800s—an incredibly interesting and beautifully preserved place full of character. The service was exceptionally warm and welcoming; we truly felt well looked after. Our bed was very comfortable, the room was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the view from the window was just lovely.||||When we returned to pick up our car around lunchtime, we decided to have a meal there—and we’re so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious.||||I honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough. We’ll definitely be returning!

We got tired of soulless airport hotels so we stayed here , a beautiful old country style hotel. Was a perfect way to kick off our holiday. We live in York and flew from Gatwick so we arrived the night before we flew in order to avoid any mishaps , and what a great choice. The parking was a breeze in the hotels own car park ,not driven off to some remote location.everything felt safe and orderly. Beautiful , clean and comfortable with excellent food and lovely staff. Would definitely return.

We stayed for one night with parking for a week in the grounds. Warm friendly welcome, well appointed clean good sized comfortable room in a convenient location near reception. A little noise from rooms above but a comfortable nights sleep. Well marked parking bays in a tree lined area and a short taxi ride to the airport. Highly recommended

Stayed here for a park and fly from Gatwick for 1 night. ||Receptionist was lovely and friendly. ||Room was very small and bed was very hard but had a lovely view. ||Food was delicious, barman not very friendly, seemed everything was too much effort for him. ||Breakfast staff stood watching whilst there were empty dishes and plates to be cleared. ||Cleaning lady was lovely, she gave us information about the hotel and it’s surroundings and even showed us other rooms available if we choose to stay again. ||Overall a lovely peaceful stay but a few tweaks needed with some staff.

Ideal hotel when flying from Gatwick. Parking was included and it’s 15 minutes from the terminals. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and all you needed for a stay over. Bed was quite small, standard double I think. Was quite quiet though. Teas and coffees in the rooms. Tidy hotel in a nice location. They will book a taxi for you ready for your departure. The firm they used drove like they stole it though, we won’t use that firm next time, but that’s not linked to the hotel. Will use again!

The staff were very attentive from the moment we stepped through the door. Excellent food service. The rooms were comfortable and had everything that you needed. I would certainly highly recommend . I have used this hotel many years ago when flying from Gatwick and it did not disappoint again,

Lovely hotel in a great location, very efficient and friendly staff. Only stayed one night with a week's parking but would come back for longer to explore the countryside. Taxi to the airport is only 15 minutes despite being slightly further away. There is plenty of parking in the grounds and you keep your car keys.
