Great location for Pinderfields Hospital (directly across road), Wakefield city centre, M1 & M62 motorways - so easy access to Yorkshire and the Dales and only 20mins drive into Leeds city centre. Welcoming and friendly attentive staff. Clean, cosy, well heated room with en-suite shower/WC, large flat screen TV, mini kettle & tea/coffee. Doubled bed just big enough for 2 and room quite small, but clean and comfortable and ample storage in wardrobe with shelves and hangers. Although B&B on main road was very quiet and no noise disturbance. We had room 21 facing on-site rear car park and had a peaceful sleep. Great filling full English breakfast and other breakfast options, so all in all a great find.

I recently stopped here with my family and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. Close to any amenities you may need, a spotless dining room with incredible food and a bar the doesn't cost the Earth, this is all complemented well by the rooms which are cleaned daily, free parking, sheltered smoking area and free WiFi. If you're in the area and you need somewhere to stop, you can't go wrong with this great value hotel run by pleasant staff in a quiet location. I would definitely recommend this over any other in the area.

Lovely welcoming staff, clean rooms and the food served at Breakfast and Dinner is tasty. Just that some areas need looking at like beds you can feel every spring, leaking shower and poor double glazing that doesn't do much for the constant road noise at the front of the property. Also one hand towel and small bath towels that could easily be replaced with two hand towels and bath sheet towels. Take note of the food times as there is no flexibility as a fellow resident was 4mins late for breakfast and was told he missed breakfast.

We booked this at the last minute as we were going to see a local band in Wakefield. It was clean an tidy and staff were helpful and welcoming.|The room was small but had an en-suite shower (lovely and hot with fantastic pressure) and toilet. A kettle and tea making facilities were provided. The old fashioned key system meant we could come and go as we pleased without the faff of key cards.|Breakfast was lovely overall a great place to stay .

I booked through a booking website and was daft enough not to check with trip advisor. I looked at the reviews and they seemed good. What I did not realise was they listed them by ‘most relevant’ which it would seem to be the good ones. On entering the hotel all we could smell was stale fat and cooking from the kitchen. We were told the WiFi was down and that they hoped it would be up ‘later’. The room smelt of drains and there was a plug in air freshener. The TV didn’t work properly. I need WiFi and after our third night we spoke to who I think was the owner. He said it had ‘crashed and burned’. He offered use of internet in the office but I told him I need regular access so I would be checking out. His attitude implied I was pathetic for needing constant access. I stay regularly in hotels and this is the worst I have stayed in in the uk.

This guest house has only 3 things going for it, the close proximity to the hospital, the wi fi, and the breakfast. The single room provided was dated, smelt damp and lots of noise|When telling the member of staff I would be back at around 8pm, she said your room key fits the back door,let yourself in. It’s was dark and no street lights, past a lot of mud and rubble.|The shared bath room was in need of a deep clean, towels provided were a mucky grey colour that had seen better days. I felt very vulnerable staying here.

Charming place to stay in Wakefield. My friend and I came to stay from Edinburgh to go and see the Yorkshire sculpture park and we had a lovely stay. We got a big, comfortable room with a double and a single bad for a very good price, and for just 5 pounds more we both got free WiFi and breakfast! It was really worth it because the breakfast was nice and very abundant. It had everything from cereal, to full English breakfast. The women working there was also lovely, very kind and helpful. The location is also good, rather close to the station.

A real mixed bag. We turned up to the entrance, which is down a back road. Two people outside having fags, and it turns out one of them was staff. Went to check-in, to find an oldish woman sat in the reception area saying she wanted her support worker to be called. After a mix-up with rooms, we were shown to our room. At this stage I was wondering what the hell is booked. We went out for food, and on our return found staff out the back smoking. Went into the reception area, where there was a man sat drinking cans of Fosters. I was considering just going elsewhere. We stayed, and had a pretty quiet evening, and a breakfast the next morning. The lady at breakfast was very pleasant, and extremely helpful. It looks like some rooms could be DSS rented rooms. A pity, as this place has potential, and some good bits, but it certainly won't be my first choice in future!
