Staff were helpful and friendly apart from the owner!
Ordered a floater coffee having seen them preparing coffees with liquid double cream. When it arrived it was made with spray cream which I questioned with the owner. He took a very aggressive stand telling me it was real cream but from a gas cream gun and although I was clearly disappointed with this poor quality product he just walked away.
For his benefit and others who may need to be more specific if they order a floater coffee (or liquor coffee) the cream is liquid and floated on the coffee, the clues in the name!!!
I think he would benefit from some staff training, FROM THE STAFF as they were all very pleasant.

ESCAPE TO THE COUNTRY LITERALLY, we were recommended here by someone and oh so glad we tried it out. We were met by the lovely Sam who showed us our room, we had the Orston room which is on the top floor at the end of the corridor overlooking the open countryside. The room was freshly painted and clean with towels and shower gels etc. A basic double room but overall everything you need from hair dryer to coffee/tea tv free Internet and the views are breathtaking. The winner and crowd puller is the food.. wow its beautiful with a capital B. Absolute credit to the chef and the price for the quality and amount is incredible. We had steak and ale pie with loads of fresh seasonal vegetables mash and pot of gravy Β£20!!!. Loved it and the sweets and omg the Breakfast was amazing also. Please see the pictures. The staff are lovely and couldn't do enough. Credit to amanda for breakfast time. Nice wine selection. This place is a real gem. We walked after our meal over to Staunton church which is a gorgeous walk to see the Avro Lancaster crew memorial. ESCAPE the rat race for a day and walk here and feel free and breath in the fresh air. Ample parking. A BIG thankyou to you all and yes we will definitely be back. Thankyou from our heart for a wonderful stay.

If you're in the countryside in this part of the country it's a great place to be. A foursome for lunch with a warm welcome, almost a hug, as we entered set the occasion and what a delight it was. Very, very good humour and service with excellent beers, wines and food all in a traditional English pub. Smiles all round, shall return.

Me and my husband and sister and brother in law went for Christmas Eve Dinner, followed by an overnight stay with breakfast on Christmas Day. What an experience. Everyone was very welcoming. It's a beautiful setting. Dinner was truly amazing, as was breakfast. The rooms were superb and so very comfortable. It's very well priced, too. I'm definitely visiting again.

Me and my parents came in because we wanted a high quality meal. It did not meet our standards. All the meals we had were freezing cold. The staff were rude and the man who looked to be the manager was just treating all the employees dreadfully and showing no respect. The glasses and cutlery were also dirty. Will not be returning.

Service tonight was awful, we are quite regulars, staffing has changed and the customer service is shocking. Table of 8 tonight for a birthday, the cake wasn't bought out. No smiles from staff and the food was dry.
