Fantastic venue for a stay or conference. The room was clean and comfortable and all the meals were delicious! Buffet breakfast is normally a let down in hotels but I ate everything on my plate as it was all really tasty, even the scrambled eggs were cooked as they should be rather than overcooked. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The coffee is very good quality which makes a refreshing change! Thanks to all the staff who looked after us.

Our room was very comfortable, with a great mattress and super pillows. Bathroom could do with an update; shower not very powerful. Food was exceptional although bar prices were pretty steep. I didn’t use the leisure facilities but everyone I spoke to enjoyed them.

Rooms are a little tired but clean and as the price was reasonable, I don't have any real complaints. The swimming pool is a bit of a trek from the main hotel and could do with a few cosmetic improvements to get rid of some rust marks around the pool.||||It was better food than I expected in the restaurant, but wine is very expensive (£28 for what was probably an £8 or less bottle in the supermarket). Avoid the coffee urn at breakfast, it's some time since I've had coffee that tasted so bad. The rest of the buffet breakfast was fine and the bacon was particularly good.||||Overall a pleasant overnight stay.

We were there for 2 nights for a nearby family wedding. On the plus side, the food was very good and the bride and groom were given a complementary bottle of bubbly. |However, it is a very corporate orientated hotel. It is modern, but there is no lift, some rooms were cold, we couldn't turn our shower on and off and even the maintenance guy had difficulty fixing it and there are no closed drawers for clothes in the rooms, only hanging space. The service in the restaurant in the evening was poor, with lack of communication regarding our pre ordered meals.

Having visited Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club twice now, I’m still undecided about the place. While my second visit was better than the first, the inconsistency in service and quality leaves me with mixed feelings.

The hotel itself has many positives. The lobby is modern, welcoming, and exudes a sense of luxury. The rooms are spacious, fairly clean, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay. The location is excellent, with plenty of parking available. The hotel also boasts great leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi, which add to the overall experience.

However, the restaurant and bar are where the hotel struggles. My first meal this time was deeply disappointing. The goat cheese and beetroot salad—a classic combination—was flavorless, with the goat cheese served cold and rock-hard, as if it had just been pulled straight from the fridge. The pea and mint risotto seemed microwaved, served scalding hot, and drowned in mint, making it almost inedible.

That said, the second visit to the restaurant was a complete turnaround. Our waitress was lovely and caring, in stark contrast to the staff from the previous day. Although I didn’t catch her name, her attentive service made all the difference. The food quality had also improved significantly, to the point where we even joked if the chef and management had changed shifts—it truly felt like a completely different place.

Staverton Park has potential, and the hotel facilities are solid. However, the inconsistency in dining quality is a major drawback. I’ll be returning next month, but I’ll approach the restaurant with caution, hoping for another pleasant surprise.

Stayed at this hotel for a nearby wedding. The reception area and bar are both nicely decorated and inviting. Sadly, this decor does not extend to the guest rooms. The photographs shown on the site are of a select few rooms which have been updated. The en-suite bathroom provided did not look like the photos and comprised of 1970s linoneum flooring and a shower over a bathtub, rather than a "proper" cubicle. The TV was small and the telephone did not work. The room was relatively clean, but the window frames wanted replacing or deep cleaning as it was obvious they had suffered mould/condensation issues in the past. ||The leisure centre/pool was good and the breakfast was also very nice. Staff were friendly.

An excellent venue for a large event. Staff were helpful and kind. The food was excellent. Great choice at breakfast with lots of fruit, pastries and cooked choices. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Parking is free. There is golf including a golf range and a spa onsite.

We booked this hotel through red letter days as a birthday treat with dinner included. This was very much looked forward to. On arrival
We were asked if we wanted to book a table in the restaurant which we did happily having already browsed the menu in the bar . The room was old and run down with chips and marks all over the walls, paint covering cracks in the ceiling and an inch gap under the main door to the hallway! The pool was nothing like the photos. Very small and with everyone able to see you as they walk past on the golf course.
We rallied and looked forward to our evening meal, where we were seated in an empty restaurant next to the one other occupied table?!!! I was asked if I would like a pint or a half when I asked for Chardonnay !!
And then we were informed it was a Buffett dinner as it was a busy evening and to help ourselves. It smelt like hospital food so we drank up and left and didn’t eat in the hotel at all. Breakfast the next day left a lot to be desired too.
When raising our concerns we were fobbed off with excuse after excuse. However red letter days were fantastic and after their investigations we have been given a full refund from them.
