Not the cleanest but aesthetically pleasing. Arrived on an evening with instructions but no idea where to find suite, no directions or anything shown at main desk on arrival as staff are not in the building on a night. Beautiful building and surroundings though

The grounds are wonderful and provide short walks or play areas with the beck running through the centre of the grounds. The accommodation is kept to a high standard and the staff are really helpful and friendly.||There are so many places that one can visit from the Hall, with the Moors Visitor Centre only a couple of miles up the road on the edge of the Moors. Also there are many properties and attractions that are easily reached for day trips, even the coast is only an hour away.

We were in the Rosedale ground floor one bed flat. I advise you to arrive by 5pm, before the office shuts until Monday, or you might have difficulty finding your accommodation; the name 'Rosedale' is not to be seen. You might also have difficulty with the heating; there are six pages of instructions for the three radiators (couldn't follow them so we were cold), and none for the electric woodburning stove (whose wall switch said 'on' but did nothing. There is in fact an invisible switch underneath the stove. No double glazing so plenty of condensation and the bathroom had blinds but climbing over the bath to open or close them was better suited to a contortionist. The basin light had a loose connection (?) and flickered constantly (when it went on); the socket close to the dressing-table (ideal for the hairdryer) would not accept any 3 pin plug; the kitchen hot tap dries up completely when other flats are also using it. Does nobody ever check these things? We will not return.

Great location, grounds, facilities and a lovely little cottage. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The pool has a few missing some tiles and the jets in one area of the hot tub were not working when we used it but still lovely to relax at the end of a packed day exploring.

Don't forget your sliders/flip flops for the hot tub. It may have been a user error but we couldn't get into the pool entrance from the hot tub and had to walk round to the front entrance and in.

Towels provided in for home and hot tub/pool which was great.

Remember your £1 if you want to play pool too 🙂

Been coming here for years and it never lets me down. The grounds are magnificent as are the rooms. It’s definitely improved over the years with a hot tub and sauna to complement the small pool. Our room now has a coffee pod machine, air fryer and finally, working WiFi! Every year the grounds are improved on and the ‘Gruffalo woods’ are so beautiful with plenty of wildlife to see if you are quiet. There is so much to do and see in the area, my favourites being the White horse, the many ruins and all the shopping towns.

Just a short drive into Thirsk to with good pubs and very good restaurants. Lovely swimming pool but too cold for us to use hot tub and sauna. Large apartment with plenty of seating and great views.||Short journeys to York, Ripon, and many small towns.

Stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and well maintained. It had a real homely feel and we would have loved to stay longer. We booked the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna each day and we enjoyed some great family time there. The whole place is wonderful and the staff are attentive too. I'm sure we will be visiting again ☺
