I have just been for a two night stay with my mum and the cottage is beautiful.
Linda and her husband are helpful and friendly. The rooms are cosy and private. The stay was very relaxing and enjoyable and we would recommend for a quiet getaway. Easy access to Matlock and Bakewell. We are looking forward to a return visit.

Quaint little cottage with only two rooms. Lovely hostess, very accommodating and friendly ( love the two dogs Henry and Daphne). Very clean and comfortable room with bath in room which I loved but not for those who are uncomfortable being naked in front of those they are staying with. The other room has shower (not sure how private that is ). Provides good breakfast at table shared with 2 other guest we got on well with. Tea/coffee making facilities in room, lovely view of garden. Quite little village but plenty of lovely places nearby, such as Chatsworth house and Haddon Hall. Good location for walkers, though that’s not for us. Short drive to Matlock Bath and Bakewell. Loved my stay only down point for me was no TV in room and as nights drawing in and returning to room early telly would be good because it makes long night, fortunately we could watch film on iPad with free WiFi. A little cold at night but sooner remedied when heating turned on by Lynda, bedding very comfortable and cosy. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay for 2 nights at Sycamore Cottage. Linda is a brilliant host friendly and welcoming. Room really comfortable with a roll top bath. Tea and cake on arrival in the guests sitting room. Linda even sent up 2 glasses of wine and some crisps which I had the luxury of enjoying whilst in the bath! Breakfast delicious. We were even able to charge our electric car. 2 good pubs The Peacock (opposite) which is expensive for dinner, but very stylish and we had a delicious supper in the bar and The Grouse and Claret which is very reasonable and served good food. You are on the doorstep of so many things to do. The Working water mill next to the property is fascinating and you can buy all kinds of flour. We really highly recommend staying at Sycamore cottage and will definitely stay again. Thankyou Linda .

We stayed here for 3 nights, we picked the bath room which was nice and perfect for what we needed. As this room only has a bath, would suggest booking the other room if you’re looking for more convenience with a shower. Full English each morning, fruit, cereal and toast also available so plenty to eat! We had bikes and were able to store in one of their out buildings. Overall customer service was amazing, there are two dogs which we liked and they are friendly. Occasionally would bark but that’s what dogs do. We would stay here again.

The husband and I stayed at Lynda's on our wedding anniversary weekend and loved every second! The cottage was super quaint, with a lovely outdoor seating area which we unfortunately didn't get use as we were out exploring and trekking. ||||The jewel in the crown is Lynda's outstanding hospitality; she made us feel welcome even before we set foot on the property by checking in on us to make sure we knew how to get to her place. The breakfast was also lovely - fresh grapefruit and refreshing orange juice served alongside one of the best sausages we have had for breakfast.||||Will definitely return!
