Overnight stop over with the motorhome, as we were heading to Boston for the weekend.
Lovely dog friendly site and golf club handy for going into Melton Mowbray. Usual campsite facilities with electric if required. Showers and toilets. Will return again.

I thought i had to write this review about the campsite management of Sysonby Acres. We have visited many times over the years with our friends and have enjoyed our trips meeting up with the conway campers but earlier this year we were booked with friends again but just before going i contacted shingles in my face and eye and had to cancel. I spent the next six weeks in and out of hospital and i,m still not right.|Our friends still went and asked Elizebeth at the site office if we could have the days we paid for in loo for later in the year when i felt well enough to go as it wasnt as if i just changed my mind and didn,t go it was a genuine illness. She was very helpful saying she would speak to management. Their answer was it is not our policy to give refunds. After the times we had spent there it soured our memories, our friends are in the same mind as well. I don,t know if we will ever bother going back.

We really enjoyed our visit here for golf. It was very reasonably priced. We played 18 holes and were surprised how quiet it was for the school holidays. The golf and football golf being on the same course wasn't an issue. No silly golf dress code!

The disc golf is a wonderful activity accessible to all abilities that more people should be making use of!

The facilities are excellent. A well stocked (snacks, equipment, books) reception is the hub with toilets attached. Highest quality clubhouse for disc golf I've seen in the UK so far. The grounds are lovely. This is maintained for golf and footgolf as well, so everything is mown nicely and there is no rough I wouldn't happily dive into head first. A really excellent side feature is that all of the land outside the course boundary is visible, open and accessible. I cannot imagine anyone losing a disc here ever. The layout is actually really fun. Hole 2 is a stunning downhill tunnel shot that has a challenging shape. Good mix of lengths and shot shapes with gentle elevation makes for a interesting round. Good equipment. Nice baskets and rubber tee mats along with blue or red pegs for each tee (an aesthetic I quite like). Good public transport access. Huge for me personally, there aren't many UK courses I can get to easily as a non-driver. Good value for money. £12 for unlimited play is always worth it for the quality of the grounds.

Flat grass pitches-EHU if required. Clean toilets and showers. Staff very helpful. |Only downside is the road noise directly behind the site. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs as it lessons at night but is still there. Pleasant walk around the golf course and along the navigation canal

Nice friendly place. Clean showers, large grass pitch. However ground was waterlogged due to recent floods. Got motorhome stuck, as did another 3 campers, had to have another camper tow us out. So couldn't stay. In process in getting refund.

Just got home from a long weekend stay at Sysonby and thought I'd give those who are thinking about booking, a heads up that we wish we'd had before booking, even after reading the mixed reviews. It is a VERY BASIC 'campsite'. The facilities are OK, kept clean and relatively quiet at times that other campsites are usually busy. But the site was also quiet and now we know why. It runs along a main A road which is very busy and NOISY all hours of the day. All the electric pitches run along the hedge that backs onto the road. If you are in a tent like we were, there is no barrier to the noise. Even at 1am, 2am, 3am there was still traffic up and down. Lorries, motorcycles, tractors, everything. After the first night, I had to go out and buy sleeping tablets in the hope to drown out the noise for the rest of our stay! The site is on a golf course/sports field where a lot of the public walk their dogs, I know it's not the campsite's fault and there is signs up but the amount of dog poo we stood in whilst there was ridiculous! Out of all the campsites we've stayed at, Sysonby is the only one without a security barrier on site. This made us feel a little unsafe and not wanting to leave the tent for long periods. We were warned not to share the door codes with anyone who arrived because of travellers, which made us feel all the more insecure! The staff were nether friendly or unfriendly, there wasn't really a warm welcome. Don't be deceived by the kids play equipment on the pictures either, it's very outdated and not all there. Regular campers will understand what I mean about a 'campsite atmosphere', there is no atmosphere here whatsoever! Its just a public park with pitches.

Arrived to a friendly welcome at Reception and advised due to the wet weather of late the Pitch was wet but accessible with care due to all pitches being on grass .We were given a full intro onto the Site and a leaflet with all codes to the Shower block and the bin area. On inspection of the toilets/showers these were found to be acceptable if you find the need to use them. You are very close to the main road and as all pitches back onto this which is noisy/ busy during the day but got less busy later on that day. You have a lot of dog walkers using the area as this is a public area but never caused us a major problem. Ideal Site Summer time Venue if you need a pit stop or are visiting Melton Mowbray or Rutland for an Event .
