Loved it..the cottage was warm and cosy, had everything that I needed for a self catering holiday.. Kitchen equipment was impressive...The view across the bay was lovely. At night the bay beyond my bay ( a 30min walk) into Castlebay was lit up by the lights from the ferry.
The Co-op was a ten minute walk from Taigh Tangaval.
Arrived 3 hours late into Barra, so
after 5 hours on the ferry, the last hour being in the dark, a few flashing buoys, then a row of street lights,
Streets lights stay on till 11- o- clock.. Then the darkness is velvet black..and the silence was just amazing.....Barra is a special place, not for everyone I suppose, but I loved it..
