I stayed overnight for a local running event. Victoria was very accommodating, as I left very early but was able to return later for a shower and breakfast. The room had everything I needed and was spotless - not easy in an older house. Refreshments were provided and I had a comfortable and peaceful nightโ€™s stay. Breakfast was fantastic!

Just returned from a two nights stay here at the rectory. My granddaughter and I loved everything about it. Quaint, clean and charming. Our hostess Victoria even put the heating on in the bathroom; although early June the weather was cold, so thanks for that. |As avid Jane Austen fans we were thrilled to be staying at โ€œMr Collinsโ€ rectory. We imagined Mr Darcy proposing to Elizabeth as we sat in the sitting room and of Mr Collins and Charlotte welcoming Elizabeth in the driveway. There is a photo album of the making of Pride and Prejudice with photos and press cuttings. | There is a lovely old church next to the rectory and well worth a visit. A walk round the hamlet and itโ€™s a travel back in time. |Nothing was too much trouble for Victoria, we had a full English breakfast and there was coffee making facilities in the bedroom. Fresh garden lowers in the bedroom and on the dining table. |Really sweet jack russell lives there too.

We were completely happy with our stay; the innkeeper was friendly and helpful in every aspect and helped to make our time there enjoyable. The setting is charming, very clean and comfortable and the surroundings are charming. We had several options for dining out locally that we were pleased with.

What a little gem of a place. Cosy yet grand, full of character, the most wonderful welcome from the lovely landlady. And all of that only a 10 minute drive outside of Oakham, in the hamlet/village of Teigh (pronounced Tea). If you are a Jane Austen fan this is definitely a place to stay. And even if you are not, it is the most charming B&B, thoroughly recommend it.

We needed an overnight stay in or around Oakham and this property was reasonably priced compared with some of the others in the town itself. The house was beautiful and it came as no surprise that it had been used to film certain scenes in the 1994 version of Pride and Prejudice (the Colin Firth version). Our twin room was very comfortable though I confess I would have liked a television in the room. We were shown to the room by Victoria and her little jack russell, Jacko.||We arrived late on Sunday afternoon and asked for recommendations for places to eat. Victoria looked surprised we hadn't already booked somewhere as all the local pubs/restaurants would serve Sunday lunch then close afterwards. As a result, we did struggle to find somewhere but booked a pub in Oakham itself after a number of phone calls.||On our return, Victoria had drawn the curtains and switched on some lights so that we could enjoy the atmosphere in the room the production company had used for their Pride and Prejudice scenes.||The hamlet of Teigh was beautiful and we had a walk round the next morning, including a look round the church. It really felt like stepping back in time.

Wonderful B&B an enchantingperiod property used in filming of 1999 Pride and Prejudice. .Victoria was a delightful host. I loved her foraging of wild blackberries to add to the breakfast fruit. Expect quirky old fashioned rooms and bathrooms which is all part of the charm in a picturesque setting.

Great nights sleep. Lovely hostess. Beautiful old house with open fire and wonderful bathroom facilities (very large bath and plenty of hot water). Jacko the little dog, books and newspapers all added to the ambience. Do visit the church!
