A must stay for families and couples, or on your own. It's situated in a beautiful location right on the River Thames. I have stayed here many times and will continue to do so. They were even acceptable with my dog ,who loves going for her walks along the river when we stay. No 1 choice in Maidenhead every time. Highly recommended. The staff are amazing and the rooms are great and very clean and comforting.

The location and view of the Thames is stunning.
The king size bed in the room was very comfy but on the whole room was quite basic, same level as chain hotels.
Decor in main building is dated and breakfast buffet quite run of the mill.

Staff are very friendly and very inclusive of all customers.

The hotel undeniably stands out for its beautiful location right on the Thames. The view is simply idyllic, with majestic swans gliding gently on the water, creating a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxation. The option to explore the area with a tourist bus is also a great advantage.||||The service provided by the staff is particularly noteworthy. They are extremely polite and accommodating, making the stay very pleasant. The hotel’s breakfast is also commendable—both the continental and English breakfast offer a good variety to start the day off right.||||Unfortunately, the rooms fall short of the usual 3-star standard. The furnishings are noticeably outdated, and maintenance is lacking. The windows, in particular, leave a poor impression: they are dirty and, in some cases, even covered with cobwebs. This could be problematic for guests with dust allergies, as a certain level of dustiness is also noticeable in the rooms.||||Another downside is the lack of an elevator. This is especially challenging for older guests or those with mobility issues. Although the helpful staff offers to carry luggage up and down the stairs, the stairways still present a significant obstacle.||||Overall, the stay was pleasant, and the air-conditioned rooms are certainly a plus, especially on hot days. If the hotel were to modernize and better maintain the rooms, it could live up to its potential and match its beautiful location. Until then, it remains a hotel with both strengths and weaknesses, where the service and location are the main highlights.

3 stars but could easily have been better.. ||We were given a v friendly welcome by nice staff and maintenance men (!) and were allowed to park our cars prior to the official checkin time as we and our friends were having lunch at the Waterside at Bray to celebrate various anniversaries. ||I booked executive room 104 which was one of the refurbished rooms.||Large room with Beautiful big windows overlooking the river. Quiet outside at night although we could hear the shower running next door and voices upstairs above us so soundproofing not ideal. ||Bed very comfortable. Room was clean. ||Tiny toiletries and teeny biscuits but adequate for a one night stay. ||At 8:15 the following morning the water was tepid at best… so get up early if you want a hot shower! ||Dinner was sadly a letdown. A very long wait for starters and main courses . There were only two other tables of diners. ||My mushrooms on toast was v ordinary with very boring dry bread rolls split in half and not enough sauce and the main of chicken Kiev had minimal garlic and parsley butter inside. The mashed potato was delicious however….brocolli and carrots nicely cooked. ||Breakfast was frustrating. We were there by 9am so not late.. We kept having to ask for basics like butter and bread for toast. Which were then bought out as requested. And half an hour before end of service the chafers and toaster were switched off and trays of butter, jam etc removed. ||Croissants and bacon were good. ||Such a shame the food lets it down but I would stay at the hotel again … but eat elsewhere.

Being part of the Best Western chain, although independently owned, there's a certain expectation about the quality of the hotel which I felt this did not meet. It was below my expectations. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and excellent, but seem to have to do multiple jobs as there don't seem to be many of them. ||It's got a great location by the river and river bridge, opposite a rowing club, and the restaurant looks out over this. Of course not all the rooms do - and ours didn't. It was a smallish room with limited space, but was clean. There were very few milks and te bags. I believe the hotel has recently been refurbed - I'm sure the bathroom had - so why was there no hook to hang a wash bag and clothes when having a shower; no shelf or rack to put soap, flannel, shower gel etc whilst having a shower; no grip handles to aid moving about, especially as there were no grip treads on the floor, and it was very slippy once soapy wet? ||The internet is free but useless, and dropped out so many times I gave up, but it also managed to lock me out of my email for the rest of the weekend. ||The dinner menu is a very small and uninspiring choice. My husband decided on pizza which on the menu was described as deep crust and priced around £11. As he ordered he was told it was actually £15, and when it came it was thin crust. Not bothered about the price, but it should be correct on the menu, and I'm not sure it's legal to charge more than it says on the menu. I had Cumberland sausage and mash. The sausage was flavourless and the mash did not seem like real potato to me - it seemed processed. Breakfast was much better and had a range of buffet style options. ||The car park is smallish for the number of rooms on site.

I’ve left 1 star on all options for visibility. The customer service here is appalling. Paul especially bad, other receptionists also rude and unhelpful. It’s impossible to reach reception on the internal line. You have to call the booking line to get hold of them, which I needed to do because during my stay the hot water was not working. When I finally got hold of someone I was told the boiler for the hotel was an immersion system (really) and that I needed to wait 20 minutes for it to heat up. After 40 minutes it was still freezing cold. Paul hung up on my daughter telling her to stop talking about the issue so he could go and check on the boiler. I called back I was then told that they probably needed a plumber but had no idea when that would happen. I was there for a funeral and washed in cold water. I was also told the hotel offered room service. There is none. The menu in the room is completely different from the menu in the restaurant and when I did eat there the lasagne was absolutely scorching hot. It had been microwaved. Had to move furniture to use the mirror in the room. The location is beautiful, the rooms could be better but it’s clear there is a staffing issue. They seem unmotivated, are poor communicators and have little concept of customer care. Really disappointing and I’ll be asking for a refund.

First the good points - wonderful location overlooking the Thames at Maidenhead. Well appointed room and common parts well maintained.|Now for the bad - this hotel had recently completed a two year restoration but let itself down in a few ways|1 - when I booked I was told that my room was on the ground floor - not so. It was up a steep flight of stairs from reception and i have difficulty with stairs|2 - The bed side lights were offset from the bed so we had to get out of bed to switch off the lights|3 - Believe it or not but we couldn't get a gin and tonic in the bar as they didn't have any tonic water|4 - The breakfast buffet was among the worst we have experienced. All of the food was tepid, they only offered scrambled eggs, the bacon was covered in white scum and the hashbrowns were soft and squidgy|Such a shame as the hotel has so much to offer, but they need desperately to gat their act in gear
