We stayed at The Abbey last year and liked the location so much we chose to stay again for a night while travelling through London. Excellent proximity to the train station which was good when travelling with luggage. The rooms are a little dated but we found them spacious and comfortable enough. The fan was appreciated for a warm day and night.

Great spot in Notting Hill. 50 metres from underground station and from all amenities. Holland Park and Kensington a short walk away for a selection of trendy cafes and eateries. Recently refurbished in an elegant way from a previously run down hotel, the new management have made some notable changes. Staff was extremely helpful and flexible to our needs. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately not anything close to a 4 star hotel. Totally not worth the cost in my opinion. Would be fine if it was cheap. Had to go up 6 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases, no lift. Carpets and shower liner were very dirty.

NOT a four star hotel!!! Hope you don’t get stuck on the 5th floor for the same price as other rooms. No standing shower, you must hunch & hand spray yourself. Taller than 5 feet, you will keep hitting your head on the ceiling. Small window would not stay open, fan was broken. Toilet doesn’t always flush. Smells old and musty, water damage shows. Cannot recommend.

Unfortunately my stay at the abbey was not as comfortable as i thought. I booked a room at the ground floor but it turned out to be at the basement so it was very humid, with mold on the bathroom walls. Also because of that the smell in the room was bad. The light in the bathroom was related to a strong noise. Moreover , they did not make our room because we don't specific ask for that. Positive points are the very kind receptionists and the position, very close to the Notting hill gate.

I planned a group trip to London with a group of families with elementary school-aged children. I cannot say enough good things about the Abbey. First, in arranging the booking, Kara was extremely patient with my numerous requests and absolutely deserves a shoutout for her help. All of the staff was equally amazing. The location cannot be beat in my opinion, it both a short walk to a major tube line and a 15 minute walk (or thereabouts) to Princess Diana Memorial Park, which is my favorite children's park in the city. The hotel was fair in its pricing and also helped create custom lock-off style suites so that families could share portions of the hotel together. Our group agreed that it was a great find and would be back on their next trip to London. I have stayed at numerous hotels and Airbnbs in London and this is the first time that I would say that.

If you're wanting luxury, silk sheets and a personal butler than this hotel probably isn't for you but if you're happier with something cozy that has a homely-feel then the Abbey is perfect! The staff are all so friendly and ready to offer help with absolutely anything you need; we opted for the romantic package since we're here for my partner's birthday and they didn't disappoint - champagne on ice, truffles and some free breakfast coupons for a local cafe ? the decor and furnishing is quite rustic but I personally adore that over plain white everything most modern hotels seem to have - it makes it feel welcoming and cared for, and you can tell their not thinking of guests as just ways of getting money. The location is also perfect if you're holidaying - right next to an underground tube entrance, surrounded by food places and little corner shops for bits and bobs and the hotel itself is on a beautiful residential street so if you want an early night you're not worrying about noisy drunks passing the windows every few minutes. Only thing that might put some off staying is there is no elevator so if you struggle with stairs, this might not be the best option but other than that this is easily a 10/10 stay ?

Not well kept. They serviced the room daily though and the 24/7 front desk is helpful. Great location but the photos hide all the bad parts of the rooms. ||Holes in wall, bathroom ceiling unfinished with ripped drywall, excessive staining in bathtub
