I had an amazing stay at The Abbey Hotel! We received a free room upgrade upon arrival, which was a wonderful surprise. The pool and spa facilities were outstanding, and the golf course was a great bonus. The overall atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The location is also perfect for a peaceful getaway. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and refreshing experience. I’ll definitely be back!

We have stayed before and happily returned
The hotel is good staff were excellent.
Evening food was a disappointment, my food was cold but it was rectified quickly so I was satisfied with the handling.I wish they did fresh veg not pickled veg but that's just my personal taste. Breakfast was excellent
Spa treatments were good. The lady who did my treatment was lovely. On booking I had a treatment time of 2.30, this was changed without telling me, luckily I had rang the day before but if I hadn't I wouldn't of known. It wouldn't have caused a problem for me, but it was worth calling the day before to check.

Overall, a really good experience definitely would come again and would recommend

I had booked The Abbey Hotel for my boyfriend's birthday so that we could enjoy a spa day followed by a golf day.||||Firstly the hotel room - we paid the extra for an executive double room which was really spacious and modern. The team even put birthday banners and balloons in the room which was a lovely touch! The shower was a bit old and creaky so could do with being replaced, but not the end of the world.||||The spa - when we turned up the steam room was out of order which was a shame. The pool and spa bath were also over chlorinated which stung the eyes! At times the spa was very busy and therefore not very relaxing but when it was quiet it was lovely in there. The relaxation room needs a little tlc, it smelt damp in there and there was no background music so all you could hear were the golfers outside!||||During our spa day my boyfriend and I both had the Japanese Head Spa - what an absolute rip off and waste of money. I paid £87pp for 50 minutes and I think the masseuse spent more time faffing with equipment than actually giving a massage. She spent more time with her hands off my head than on it. I was so incredibly disappointed and underwhelmed having been looking forward to this treatment as I love having my hair played with. Being one of the only spas in the UK offering the treatment was the reason I chose this hotel for the stay, but don't waste your money on it!||||Golf - I'm no golfer but I enjoyed driving the buggy! The course seemed to be kept in good nick and it was pretty quiet meaning my boyfriend could take his time playing.||||Food - Breakfast was average. They had all the basics but not a great deal of choice - I couldn't even get a hot chocolate!||||Overall the stay was ok but I probably wouldn't plan to come back

One night stay. Service was perfect from the very first smile at reception when we arrived all the way through to the last when we left. Every member of staff were lovely, helpful and attentive. They made the stay. The grounds are beautiful and views across the golf course from the balcony bar is lush. The beers were nice and well priced, maybe could do with a little more choice on tap, if I were to be picky. The food we had during our stay was all perfectly reasonable, price and quality. The beds in the room were fine, but the sheets weren't big enough to cover the mattress, which I've never seen before. The room was very warm, but there was a fan supplied, which helped one of us sleep. The problem was that although there was excellent insulation between rooms, there was almost zero to the corridor, so from midnight to about 3am all we could hear was drunk people wandering up and down. The main reason for a hotel, in my opinion, is to have somewhere to sleep, this was the bad bit.

Our stay at Abbey Hotel was comfortable with lovely facilities. There was a mix up with times with our use of the spa and treatment times! Nayla went beyond extra help on giving us a free bottle of bubbly 20% off drinks and a free upgraded room for the inconvenience caused! Couldn’t fault her! What a lovely girl! The spa was relaxing, with a good size pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. The boys loved the golf too. |The restaurant was lovely, food was beautiful. We did have a problem with one of the meals . Our waitress Lilly was there on hand to offer another meal replacement, she was very friendly, the service was quick, and our meals were delicious in the end. Overall kind help especially from the two girls mentioned who we also found out were sister ? |Thank you Abbey Hotel, we will come again some time.

Stayed on a Sunday night for a small golf group of 6 on one of their stay and play packages and all of us were very impressed by the quality of rooms and service provided by the hotel as well as the presentation of the golf course. Particular kudos goes to the restaurant and kitchen staff - excellent food and service. The golf course is an interesting layout with plenty of thought required to return a good score. Pace of play was good. Would certainly return.

We have returned home from our 2 night break with you and felt the need to inform you of the many disappointing issues we experienced during our stay. ||On your website you promote yourself as Luxury however the standards we experienced fell way short of this.||Having checked in and gone to our room 217, we were greeted with a twin room and not the double that had been booked. We weren't offered an alternative but for someone to come to our room to convert to a double. It was impractical as we wanted to go to the spa etc so we agreed the room could be done when we went to dinner. The conversation with the gentleman on reception was unnecessary as he repeatedly questioned us on the double bed we wanted and had booked.||The shower lever to control the flow and temperature is a serious issue as its stiff and difficult to obtain the correct temperature. The number dial with the heat indicator also rotates which means we were guessing the correct position to get the desired temperature which was dangerous as my partner almost got scolded. Picture attached.||At dinner on Friday, we were disappointed with the portion size of the mackerel starter which bizarrely on Saturday was far more generous and a much improved presentation. The dining room was chaotic and so noisy, so much so we couldn't hear the staff when they were bringing out food leading to more confusion.||Saturday morning at breakfast was shambolic- you had many guests booked in and when we arrived at about 9am, there were queues for the hot drink station as there were no mugs. There were queues for hot food as there were no plates and queues for juices as there were no glasses!! The cereal station had run out of milk with no dairy free alternative ready. The soya milk when it came out was put in a tea cup not even a milk jug. A manager/ supervisor was putting sauce sachets into a pot- surely a pre- service task?|To top this off, you ran out of eggs- how does a hotel run out of eggs when you have 80 plus golfers all having breakfasts? Whether it's supplier issue or poor kitchen management, someone should've managed this issue on Friday. ||Can I ask why, given your guests ratio is 95% adults you serve children's cereals - coco pops and rice crispies? Where are the cornflakes, weetabix etc. The fruit offering was dire, prunes, grapefruit and peaches- no yoghurt was available on Saturday.||Having asked for our room to be serviced, it was disappointing to get back from golf on Saturday to find we weren't given additional toiletries. 3 small bottles to last 2 nights for 2 guests - not enough!||Saturday night, one of our guests who has an allergy to onions was served food that had come into contact with onions. You were made aware of this allergy however still failed to manage this information. I understand our guest is expecting a follow up call regarding this.||On both Saturday and Sunday after golf, we wanted crisps in the Terrace Bar but you had run out. When I asked the young lad on Sunday if there were any in the other bar he said he didn't know but did eventually come back with some. Surely stocking up checklists/ procedures would highlight this shortage and stock could be obtained before service or running out.||Several of our ladies popped to the loo after playing the 8th hole only to find 2 of the 3 cubicles had no toilet roll. Passing toilet paper under the cubicle wall is definitely not my idea of luxury. The hand paper dispenser was also empty.||So many of the issues I've highlighted shouldn't have arisen if simple checklists and opening procedures were in place, actioned and checked by management.||Our Saturday night meals and breakfast on Sunday were both really good so you can do it. Had we been staying just Friday our experience /reviews would be vastly different to those staying on just Saturday night.||Luckily for us, we are fun bunch of golfers and eventually laughed at the issues by referring to our stay at "Faulty Towers". ||I look forward to hearing from you at the ealiest opportunity on the issues I have highlighted.||The above was emailed to the hotel on Sunday 6th October- still waiting for a reply on Saturday 12th- not good and totally unacceptable.
