We really liked this old pub. Bedroom was at the front but quiet. Bed was very comfy. The food was excellent - Cod starter was not over seasoned, and duck cooked spot on. Home made Wild Garlic Pesto was so good. The Custard Tart and Rhubarb was also delicious. couldn't fault it. The real difference for us however were the staff and other customers - a really good atmosphere - every member of staff we met were really helpful, and efficient.

Warm welcome great service and excellent food!
We had a lovely time with friends as the staff were so welcoming and served us with smile and friendly conversation about food and drinks selection. We were offered to sample the wine as both me and my friend had never heard or seen orange wine in a pub menu . The food was superb. I added a picture of the sticky toffee pudding and my cocktail as reference. We are about an hour drive from the Acorn Inn but plan to do a weekend break in area to stay and experience the food again ! Super choice for dinner with friends.

We stayed for one night enroute further west. On arrival the welcome at reception was everything you could wish for. Our four poster bedroom, which overlooked the charming buildings along the main (little) road through Evershott, felt fabulously old England without feeling old. The room decor could not be faulted, and the ensuite was spotless and modern. The public bar served fantastic real ale with a roaring fire and with a really nice relaxed and friendly feeling. However what really topped off our stay was the evening meal and cooked breakfast in the morning. The chefs at the Acorn Inn are seriously talented and their food was to die for. All the staff clearly cared deeply about the guest experience and made us feel completely comfortable throughout our stay. We would highly recommend the Acorn Inn and wouldn't (and won't) hesitate to return (hopefully soon).

This is the second time this pub has catered for a large group for us and both times have been a great success. We have an annual get together for 20 people and the communication and organisation was great even with numbers changing from 17 to 19 to 21 on the day. The food is served swiftly by efficient friendly staff, the portion sizes are large and great quality. Thank you to everyone involved from the chefs to the service staff and whoever else made this happen.

A lovely stay whilst catching up with friends. The greeting and staff were all excellent, nothing too much. We stayed in the HARDY bedroom which was quaint with a 4 poster, and a lovely bathroom albeit a little small but for one night it was no problem. The room and bathroom were beautifully clean and well presented. The bar and lounge all had welcoming real fires. The food was lovely and again well presented. We all really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all the wonderful staff!

Visited for dinner and was definitely not disappointed. |The food was some of the best we have eaten |The staff were all very polite and welcoming, as were the locals we chatted too. |We didnโ€™t stay for dessert unfortunately but the starters and mains were more than enough. |We noticed they also offer a childrenโ€™s menu, so are looking forward to visiting again but with the children next time.

We stayed at The Acorn Inn for two nights in early January 2025 with my adult children and their partners to celebrate Christmas as we hadn't all been together during the December break. It was an excellent stay, excellent attentive service, excellent food and drink and comfortable rooms and beds. ||We chose The Acorn Inn due to its location, dog policy and as it had a separate vegan menu for one of us and also catered for another in respect of her gluten intolerance. Anything we asked about food wise was answered immediately and catered for.||The menu was varied (we ate here both nights) and the drinks menu was superb - although to be fair once we tried the Old Fashioneds we didn't tend to deviate away from them!||We loved the "snug" area where we spent the evenings in front of the open fire (the dog taking up most of the heat) and all the art and antiques that fill the Inn. ||The rooms were comfortable and quiet and warm. Staff were excellent. I had one issue to raise after I got home which was handed over the phone and resolved immediately.||The garden at the rear of the Inn allows you take your dog out if needed for breaks throughout the night.||The Acorn Inn is about 30 minutes drive from the coast - we went to Bridport during the day.||Cannot recommend highly enough - we will be back
