Had dinner here with friends who live in the village. Really lovely surroundings and atmosphere. I had the mussels which were excellent. My other companions all had fish and chips. Generous portions. Fish so fresh in lovely batter. Staff so friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

This was our first visit since The Angel has been refurbed and it did not disappoint. An extremely warm welcome, excellent service and fantastic food. We had mussels, pate, fish & chips and sea trout (I think). We will definitely recommend to friends and family and will be back ourselves.

Our first visit since the pub has open properly. The Sunday lunch was delicious and the staff are fantastic and very friendly. The pub has a lovely warm atmosphere and beautifully decorated. A very nice space to sit and relax around a roaring fire. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Popped in for lunch... what a cracking place. The service was great. Staff were extremely helpful and the food was excellent... I had the mushrooms for starter and steak, and ale pie was to die for. Ask me if I'd go back again..guess what the answer would be.. in a heartbeat 💓 xxxx

Had lunch here during the week.
I had a sandwich and soup, it also came with fries and salad. Absolutely beautiful and very reasonably priced. The others in our party had gammon, which was apparently delicious and steak and always pie. We had a 30 minute wait as they cooked the pie from fresh but it was definitely worth it.

Not a good start to the overnight stay due to a very cold room and bathroom. However, I was moved to a larger room at no extra cost. All the staff were helpful and polite. The lady serving breakfast in the dining room was exceptional and had a good sense of humour. Lovely log burner in Reception area made check in welcoming on a foul night. Remember Maggie from Planet Online days . Well done you have done a good job!

Went for lunch, the food was lovely very tasty and very reasonable. We sat in the bar which was very comfy with a lovely roaring log burner. Lovely young girl served us very friendly and efficient would thoroughly recommend. Well definitely be back

We held a joint birthday party (60th & 21st) for 113 people at The Angel, utilising their event room, conservatory and outside garden area. Katie & her team were a joy to work with from the early planning stages through to the party day. Always, calm, accommodating, enthusiastic and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and on the day, when the weather was uncertain, the team remained flexible and calm and accommodated our requests to move tables with a smile. They are experienced in running events which took all the stress away from us, and enabled us to simply enjoy the party with our family and friends. The event room and garden area looked magical when lit with candles and festoon lighting. The accommodation and breakfast the next day were excellent. All the staff at The Angel make you feel extremely welcome. The party catering was exactly what we wanted - tasty canapés, a hot buffet served in bowls for ease of eating and delicious mini desserts. All dietary requirements were easily handled. If you are thinking of hosting an event, book The Angel at Topcliffe, you will not be disappointed.
