A lovely hotel in a great position
Friendly staff, with a lot of personality and banter from them
It was amazing how we could get free teas/coffees from the pub
We had a drink in the bar in the evening and we're very impressed with the prices. Pint of lager a small bottle of prosecco for less than half for what we paid in London just for a small prosecco
Went down for breakfast and the lad (Stewart?) really looked after us, he brought our mugs for our drinks and took our food order
The breakfast was lovely
We will be back
Than you to all the staff in the hotel and the pub

Fantastic in every way. It couldn't be better located, right on the harbourside so convenient for everywhere in the town. The building has a history dating back to 1795. We were very fortunate to have a room that had a lovely view over the harbour and up to the abbey. Good sized room. Friendly staff. Excellent range of cask ales including a superb stout. Whitby seemed to have an enormous number of dogs so it was lovely to have a haven away from them.

This was a very nice location for a Wetherspoons and by all accounts it was perfectly pleasant. There was a nice atmosphere inside and it felt spacious, the only downside was that it was very very busy so finding a table was tricky. Additionally it didn’t feel like staff were very attentive, lots of tables were unoccupied by covered in plates and glasses having not been cleared, and the tables that were clear were often dirty and sticky. I’d certainly go again but would be nice to see staff step up a little more and keep things clean and tidy.

Second time staying here booked a balcony room.|Room spotless bed really comfortable,blackout curtains a godsend when on holiday.|Had a couple of curries whilst stopping and to be fair they were good.|Noticed a few customers ordering fish and chips and the fish looked better than some of the other big fish shops in the town.|No parking but there are parking places 5 minutes away but get there early after 11am you will struggle.|Staff friendly and welcoming.|Would stay again. |Down side no dogs allowed unless assistance dogs and that is only outside so if you have dogs every where else allows dogs

Love a wetherspoons, always good value and you know what you are going to get. We visited over the April Goth weekend, and it was busy but WOW. Quick, efficient and friendly service. Food was hot and fresh and the drinks were cold. Clean tables and it was lovely to see the whole team working together. The door security were pitching in to tidy tables to keep things flowing.... all done with a smile.

Fab place and can nearly always find a space despite how popular it is, especially during Goth weekend!!
Great value and the food is varied and filling but don't expect Cordon bleu quality. Good food at great prices.
I find the staff are always friendly and happy to help, always busy too, no slackers to be seen.
A great pub and part of a great chain.

The Angel Hotel Pub was a Wetherbey's pub. The price was better than most other pubs. During the day they had specials such as a small fish and chip meal with a beer for a good price. We ordered dessert just because of the price. We ate outside and found we could order with our smart phones. Convenient. I would go back.

The location of the pub and hotel is excellent near the harbour and historical town centre.
Extremely busy during meal times, especially in the evening.
Staff are very efficient and helpful
Food is freshly prepared and delicious.
The steak night deal on Tuesday is great value
