I'm an occasional visitor and usually the bar meals and service are impeccable. Yesterday not so. Just had fish and chips. What can go wrong? Fish was metallic tasting (usually cheaper deep sea cod), batter was soggy in places, even the usual fantastic chips tasted old and dry. The accompanying tiny salad was swimming in dressing and pretty inedible. |Waiting staff never once offered niceties, didn't ask if we were enjoying our meal, if everything was ok, nothing when the plates were taken away, no offer of dessert menu. |We will try again

We recently photographed and attended a wedding at The Anglesey Hotel. A stones throw from the solent, the hotel benefits from a private function room as well as public bar, with the added benefit of gardens across the road for photo opportunities. The staff were friendly, the food was excellent, especially the mini bagels. If you are looking for an intimate venue to host your wedding this is an ideal venue.

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. The restaurant has been nicely decorated, the staff were very pleasant but best of all the roast was really tasty and well cooked with a nice variety of vegetables. This has restored my faith in Sunday roast after a number of disappointments elsewhere and will definitely return

Restaurant had 5 diners and yet we waited 50 minutes for our meal. When it arrived the starter was with it.We had steak ( which was|good ) but we had to ask for steak knives and mustard.Surely this is just basic catering, and no explanation for the delay.|First and last time for us.

Booked a table for 12 for Sunday Festive lunch to get together with all our grown up children and their partners, my MIL and our baby grandson. We’ve had several Sunday roasts here previously and never disappoints. Our food was fantastic and the service could not be faulted, efficient and friendly. We very much look forward to our next visit xx

This was our first visit. My partner and I decided on a Christmas meal out as we are entertaining over Christmas period. We arrived early (5pm) so we could have a drink in their bar which could have been in any town or city…It was busy and noisy with local residents unfortunately. On walking into the restaurant area you couldn’t but notice the tired decor, the minimal Christmas decoration and general untidiness. For our meal we had decided on sharing a starter and dessert and both chose the turkey roast from their Christmas menu. The starter was nice. The roast was very disappointing. It was two slices of processed turkey meat, roast potatoes which 100% were out of a packet and tired looking veg. The dessert was disappointing too. And this was from their Christmas menu at £31 for two courses! Won’t be going back.
