Went there on Thursday for a lunchtime meal with 2 others. Friendly staff, good food, and lovely cosy feel to the place. A little disappointing that the pub was pushing the downloading of an app to gain rewards and discounts but when attempting to use it, the bar staff said you can't use it until 2 days after you've downloaded it which felt a bit like a con to us. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 course meals with drinks. There is a lovely garden outside with a bar, which then backs onto the canal with a number of tables alongside the water. Will be amazing once the warmer weather arrives.

We ate there but did not have a room. The homemade vegan burgers, served on pretzel buns with nice fresh tomato and lettuce, and carmelized onion, were delicious. Came with a large serving of chips and a small stack of some of the best onion rings I've had. Too much food, but we soldiered through. They also have a good selection of sparkling and still ciders, although the still ciders are served room-temperature, so you might ask for ice. Comfortable tables and chairs, a small fire, and eclectic light fixtures make it cozy and inviting.

Firstly, there are no stars for the rooms as I did not stay here.
My wife and I have passed this pub several times over the years and always said that we must try it out.
Today was the day, and it was certainly worth a visit as the food was fantastic.
I had the traditional fish and chips, which were cooked perfectly. My wife had pan roasted corn feed chicken supreme with crushed new potatoes and root veggies in a honey mustard cream sauce. Delightful!
This was washed down with a couple of pints of Madri larger.
Pricing is favourable with other similar establishments. ยฃ40 ish for two.
Sorry for the photos of the half eat plates of food, but we couldn't wait ๐Ÿ˜… .

Went there to eat today for my wifeโ€™s birthday , possibly some of the worst food vs price ratio I have ever seen! The fish tasted like it was frozen, the burger was a mess and tasted cheap, the chips were disgusting and had an odd odour to them,we ordered cheesy chips to keep it simple for our daughter, and the cheese was mozzarella!!!! Ridiculous, left most of the food! Will not return!

Overall the pub is generally tired with worn carpets and not the cleanest, bed was the worst mattress I have ever slept on! |Plus points breakfast was really good and the staff all very friendly, however were not able to give a VAT receipt for the room or breakfast! |Staff smoking and talking in the court yard was also not ideal as it was a hot night so windows needed to be open.

Nice location. Side of canal. Came in March so could not use garden due to time of year.
Room small but clean but could do with decorating including window frames and draft proofing.
Rooms well stocked.
General refurb needed especially carpets on stairs and landing.
Entrance and bar in need of redecorating to make more appealing.

Staff were really friendly, happy and helpful. Food was good too.

Overall a happy with stay. Would we stay again, yes but not in small double room.

What lovely place! We stopped off as it was the 1st pub on the maps and it was a good choice. The girls who served us were soo lovely, helpful, unfortunately we arrived change over in the kitchen so only light snacks were available such as pizza etc but the cheese garlic bread and onion rings were stunning but you have to try the cheese and chilli jam chips...WOW!
Will def go again x
