Absolutely fantastic spa day, I had a crystal quartz wrap with the very beautiful Chloe. Thank you so much, Chloe, my first body wrap. The experience was amazing!!! Had lunch chatted the afternoon away.

All the staff were fantastic, and you feel welcome. Happy, polite, and friendly food was great, plenty of outside space. The service was great. It's definitely worth a visit ☺️

Whenever I travel south from N Yorks I always try and stay at The Barn hotel. I have had many visits here and they always satisfy. The staff at check in are always friendly and fuss free. The bar staff are efficient and the food is very good and reasonably priced. The parking is free and there is an overflow near the spa. The Spa staff are always friendly and the pool and sauna is a real treat during my stays at no extra cost. There is a hotel I use occasionally that charges and extra £12 to use the pool which I find exploitative. The room I stayed in (816) recently was lovely. The bed was huge and comfortable. Staying on the ground floor is always a bonus for me as I have lots of luggage to move around. Looking forward to my next stay. Well done to all staff at this fantastic hotel. M

My husband and I have just enjoyed a two-night stay at The Barn to as part of our first wedding anniversary due to it being close to another spa we went to. Prior to our arrival, my husband contacted the hotel, and they kindly arranged for rose petals and a bottle of wine to be placed in our room, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture.

The hotel staff were warm, welcoming, and consistently hospitable throughout our stay. I genuinely cannot fault their customer service. However, the hotel itself feels quite dated and would benefit from some much-needed renovations. While the rooms were spacious, the decor was very basic and lacked character. That said, the location is fantastic and conveniently close to a range of local amenities.

We also made use of the on-site health club, which is included as part of your stay. Although a nice addition, the facilities could do with some minor updates and maintenance to bring them up to modern standards.

This hotel is a solid choice if you’re looking for somewhere conveniently located and don’t plan on spending too much time in your room. One bonus was the smart TV in the room, which allowed us to log in and watch Netflix, Disney+, and other streaming services—a nice perk!

Had a one night stay here recently. The room we had wasn't refurbished and was a bit tatty, but check-in was efficient and welcoming, and again at the spa, the same couldn't be said for the bar/restaurant where one member of staff could not cope with demand and good was served cold (chicken burger).
If you want to stay away from civilisation, this is a great spot, but if you're looking for pubs, community, or activities, you'll be out of luck, potentially a good place to escape and forget it all.

Not what I expected. 2 night stay.
Check in was excellent, the guy was very helpful. Shame about the rest!
Room decor was very tired as was the furniture. The bathroom door did not close properly.
Was charged for 3 evening meals (only 2 if us), staff didn't seem as if they knew what the job entailed.
Breakfast was a fiasco, no bowls for cereal, no plates for the hot buffet, no plates for toast. Kept running out of items on the hot buffet. It wasn't as if breakfast tables were full either. 2 breakfast staff more interested in talking out back. I could go on.....
It's a shame, could be a nice place, needs a lot of decorating throughout to make it more appealing.

We stayed the night and attended the murder mystery event - we had a wonderful time: the entertainment was very good and the 3 course meal was tasty. It was also my friends birthday, which they acknowledged as part of the show which was a fun surprise. Also used the spa facilities, which were clean and well maintained, with access to a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi as well as a pool. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the bathroom had a good shower. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Firstly the room wasn’t clean, the carpet needed a good hoover and the bins were full! This was as carried out whilst we had our evening meal. The carpet in our room was heavily stained and the window was cracked. Not a good first impression here.
Each morning there was chaos at breakfast, no tea bags, no spoons, no fruit juice glasses, no cereal bowls, milk, eggs. Dirty tables, no clean tables to sit on. Coffee machine often wasn’t working the list goes on. One lady appeared to be running around each day looking very stressed, another member of staff appeared periodically. I felt sorry for the staff , you need about 4 staff to run the breakfast efficiently. On this basis I wouldn’t stay here again as each morning it was the same not just a one off.

On a positive note the 3 course evening meal each night was lovely. Compliments to the chef.

Lovely place. Highly recommended. It was mine and my husband birthdays. We were given Prosecco and a card in the room and a bottle of wine on the house with our evening meal.
Jada and Daisy the waitresses are a credit to the hotel. Made the evening very special for us Thank you Barn hotel
