My wife is in a group that meets here and enjoys the food so she wanted me to try the Sunday lunch. Well, it was packed, which is a good sign. The hotel is very pleasant and the service spot on. A great atmosphere and very efficient. We had 3 courses for a treat, and prices are very reasonable. Won't go into everything, but my main course was duck and it was superb. In fact the whole meal was faultless with wonderfully staff..One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time!...A great place, and we will be back!

We've just returned from a three-night post-Christmas break in Lytham St Annes, where we were fortunate enough to stay at this charming little hotel. The Bedford is family owned and run and is as far removed from a chain hotel as it is possible to be. The pride the owners take in running the hotel is reflected on every level from friendly, personal service, spotless and beautifully presented common areas and comfortable, well-appointed rooms. We had one of the superior rooms on the first floor, facing to the front and the main road. Traffic noise was not an issue, nor was light pollution thanks to the very heavy and thick curtains. The bed was a large super-king, there was plenty of storage space, a sofa in the large bay window and an easy chair plus matching bedside cabinets and lamps. The room was well heated, so much so that we only needed to sleep on top of the bed. There was a well stocked hospitality tray, a pair of white waffle dressing gowns if needed and an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was clean, fresh and stocked with complimentary toiletries. A special mention has to be made of the food at the Bedford. We chose a bed and breakfast option and the breakfast was excellent. There was a small buffet where you could help yourself to cereals, porridge, fruit and juices and then a choice of cooked options, from kippers, ham and cheese and the full English with eggs any way you wanted them. I suspect most, if not all the ingredients were locally sourced as they were of very good quality with fresh mushrooms and tomatoes, not tinned. For the first night, we decided to take advantage of the three-course dinner for £28 per person, including coffee and mints. In these days of soaring prices and 'shrinkflation' where you seem to get less and less for your money, this dinner represented unbeatable value. We both had a starter of smoked trout with pickled vegetables and homemade bread, followed by the deliciously tender lamb with vegetables, fondant potatoes and red wine jus. To finish I had a gorgeous lemon posset with butter biscuits and my partner had a treacle tart. Each course was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and professionally served with a smile. For that price for a dinner of that quality, you simply cannot go wrong. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; every member of staff we met from reception, to the waiting staff, to the housekeepers and the night porter were a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely return to the Bedford should we visit this lovely seaside town again; it's no surprise at all that it's number 1 on Tripadvisor. With many thanks from two very satisfied and happy guests.

A large group of us had a Christmas meal and party here this week. We had pre-ordered from a generous selection of menu choices and the food was really good and beautifully presented with prosecco on arrival. I have to say the staff were brilliant; obviously busy, but friendly and helpful, especially with one of our party who has mobility problems. We had booked an entertainer for after the meal but she had to cancel on the day due to illness. Having spent most of the day trying to find a replacement with no success Carl, the manager, came in and acted as DJ all evening instead and did an excellent job. There were 28 of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. Thank you to Carl and everyone in your team. Highly recommended!

I took family for a festive lunch today & we truly enjoyed it from start to finish.|Superb food, the plates were hot so was the food. Delicious white chocolate trifle, the coffee came in a percolator & we had hot milk to put in the coffee with a mini mice pie.I went to see the bird in the cage and it gave me a few whistles which was delightful.

Couldn't sleep very well the first night as the mattress was too hard. We were there on a dancing holiday. It has a good ballroom. Food is very good. the hotel is in a good location for beach and shops. this is the second time we have stayed there and would stay again. There is a parrot in reception which can be a bit vocal.

It’s the people that work in this hotel that make it special. We went as a dance group for the weekend. Got a warm welcome from Carl and Karen who had helped with us during the last few months making the organisation of over 40 dancers seemless. The waiting and bar staff were brilliant and the food was fabulous. The ballroom was fabulous and a well stocked bar kept our dancers refreshed. Thank you to all at the Bedford. See you next year
