This is a beautiful old building. The people who run this place clearly take a lot of pride in what they do. A lovely warm welcome, outstanding breakfast and a nice room. Parking out the front, seating outside and a lounge room. My only disappointment was that I didn't get a room with lovely stained glass windows like in the pictures. This is NOT a criticism of the hotel though, I booked through a 3rd party app as I had a gift voucher so couldn't really be sure what type of room I was getting. If you want the room with the lovely windows I'd suggest you contact the hotel direct. Overall a lovely stay, and have recommended this place to others as a perfect peaceful retreat.

We stayed here over the weekend with my disabled mum. They were extremely accommodating, even when I phoned up to check the width of the door was OK for my mums wheel chair. The lady on the phone run down stairs to measure it for me. The breakfast was lovely and having access to fresh milk for my tea first thing in the morning was a big plus.
The rooms were clean and tidy. I left my ring in the room and they came running after me to return it which was a blessing as coming back for it would have been a nightmare.
Lovely location but no local shops and the pub is currently being renovated but all in all we loved it.

Wonderful experience. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very clean. Kind and welcoming hosts. Delicious breakfasts. We enjoyed the use of their comfortable lounge in the evenings. The church across the street has bells with a beautiful tone. It was memorable experience. Looking forward to staying again.

Fantastic stay. Cumfy well appointed room with delicious food. They catered well for GF needs and had little touches such as extra milk and fruit juice available 24/7. Well worth a visit

As other reviewers have already highlighted, this was a wonderful stopover that exceeded our expectations - every aspect was very high quality: the location (despite being on an "A" road was very tranquil on a Saturday night, with almost no traffic. The room was excellent for a night's stay, with access to a lounge if you want "another space": the bed (in the Wordsmith room) was one of the most comfortable we've experienced, the bathroom's power shower was accompanied by L'Occitane products and the breakfast was also superb. This business deserves support and repeat custom - we rarely write such a positive review.

We stayed in 3 of the rooms for 1 night. The Tennyson,Keats and Shelley. All the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Everything you needed. Nice to have a really big bath sheet in the shower room with L’occitane toiletries. Breakfast was lovely with a selection of cereals , yogurt and toast to help yourself too. The a lovely cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Thus is a nice hotel. We stayed for one night. Clean with comfy bed. The owner is lovely. Great breakfast. Personally I think it would be good if they had a bar for guests to have a drink as there is no pub close by.|Some people have mentioned the church clock opposite keeping them awake. I didn't notice it and thought it was quaint.
