Excellent Stay with Outstanding Customer Service

Stayed for a night at the Bentinck Hotel and couldn’t have asked for a more convenient location—literally footsteps from Nottingham train station. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Moose, who provided exceptional customer service. Later in the day, the staff kindly held my luggage until my room was ready in the afternoon.

The room itself was comfortable, warm, and had everything needed for a short stay. The bed was a little small for a couple. The shower was great, and the windows provided a nice touch to the room’s ambiance.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the staff—everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience. Their professionalism and warmth really stood out.

The hotel itself has a charming historical theme, with well-maintained decor. In the morning, I enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast but opted to upgrade to a full English, which was well worth it.

Overall, a fantastic stay with top-notch service. If you’re looking for a welcoming hotel right next to the train station with great staff and a cozy atmosphere, this is the place to be.

Perfect hotel for stop overs in Nottingham. One minute from the main train station. Comfortable and well equipped. Spacious room (room 2) Good breakfast choice.|Simple late check in system using key safes by the door when Reception is closed. |Friendly staff.

Very poor room, cold, tired, dated. Extremely small bed. TV remote didn't work. Apparently some rooms are OK but as they were full they squeezed us into a very small one although we had booked weeks in advance.!!! |Foul mouthed customers in the bar, no consideration for other customers, hope they don't speak like this in front of their mums, wives kids.|Will not be returning.

Booked two rooms, lovely welcome from max, was surprised how nice the rooms were, warm and inviting and great location. For a hotel so close to the station and the price point it's a great choice.

I have no idea how this is a 2 star hotel when I've stayed in worse 3 star hotels. Service was examplery. The door sytem was easy and very secure. There was a lack-of-access for lifts/disabled people so that is an issue for people with wheelchairs but it IS a listed building which mean a lot of issues with rennovations.

Staff were so nice. The food was descent for hotels. The real great issue with the mattress. It was so soft and comfortable and I slept so well on it. The TV's could be improved and fridges in rooms would help lift the ratings. Honestly no idea how this is a 2 star establishment. Thank you for the service.

For a change I decided to book myself a night here, so regret, my room wasn't that clean, I took a shower last night and wasn't too happy when the room went into complete darkness why exactly would you have what seemed like energy saving light bulbs that switch off if your not moving around much in the room, I was in a small section of the room having a shower, I pre-warned someone else who was waiting outside the bathroom door as you have to share the bathroom of what happened! Not at all happy about all the staff had left at 21.00 so it's not as though anything could be done to resolve! Apart from ringing an emergency number.
My room was cold I put the radiator on and a while after there was such a very loud sound I didn't know what it was it was terrible I actually recorded it on my mobile.
I tried just switching the radiator back off again and the noise stopped. I definitely didn't bother with breakfast I left the hotel 7am this morning had quite enough.
The lady who served me at check-in was nice but I only spoke to her to check-in.

Lovely room. Shower was hot, plenty of towels, large standing mirror and fan was a bonus! Also great we could open window at night. Staff were really friendly and approachable, continental breakfast choices were amazing, cheap bar, and on top of all you can't beat the location. Train station is right on the doorstep, canal opposite and everything else was a quick 10 minute walk away. It was pleasantly quiet too, we didn't hear anyone else at all, only saw another couple at breakfast time. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend 👌

This is a good hotel, very small but the rooms aren't too cramped; perfect for one night. The location is unbeatable if you want to be near the rail station, but very quiet - no noise from the station or anywhere else. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom fine. Wifi fully functional.|The breakfast was excellent (I had the continental); plenty of food and good coffee.|There was not evening food though; note the restaurant featured in some of these reviews does not exist. It's not a brilliant location for food, although there are some adequate places in walking distance.
