Spent 3 nights at Mill Stream Cottage visiting friends in Clun (a 10 minute drive). A great place to get away from it all - quiet and secluded. The cottage is cosy and comfortable. It has everything you need without being cluttered. Fabulous high-pressure shower with piping hot water on demand. It was nice to have the owners next door and next time, I shall take advantage of the meal service they provide. The location deserves 5 stars; it gets 4 from me only because I got a bit lost driving back one evening in the dark (relying on Google maps!). I shall go again in late spring or summer and look forward to the longer days and being able to do some of the walks that begin straight from the cottage door.

We stayed in self catering accommodation The Miller’s Cottage @ Birches Mill - just out of the lovely little village of Clun - for a week and it was excellent in every regard. ||Well thought out and finished combination historic building and features with comfortable, beautifully decorated and modern facilities.||Beautiful and peaceful location, excellent both inside the cottage itself - as well as lovely outside private garden and out door area.||Amazing facilities for a couple travelling around Britain with a hire car and staying in cottages for over 2 months.||We have been travelling around Britain, Ireland, Europe, USA, Canada and New Zealand in hire cars and staying for weeks or fortnights in cottages/apartments for over 30 years and Birches Mill and the two cottages here are up there with the best we have stayed in.||The surrounding area of South Shropshire is also a hidden gem with much to do and see.||Andy & Gill are excellent hosts and will also provide their own produce or home cooked meals for guests.

Fabulous location, and a well-furnished cottage with friendly owners who are amazing cooks!||If you want to get away from it all, Birches Mill is a great place to stay - there's no aircraft noise and no traffic to drown out the sounds of the countryside.||The free WiFi is excellent, and knowing in advance that there is no mobile phone signal in the valley I had set up WiFi calling on my mobile.||We first visited in 1993, just before the present owners took over, and have been back many times over the years - although this was the first time we've stayed in The Miller's Cottage, and also the first time we've stayed for as long as a week.||Although there are plenty of pubs and restaurants in nearby towns the home-cooked food on offer was so good that we ate in most evenings. We knew from past visits how good the home-made jams and chutneys were, but the meals were even better than we expected.||Although the location is out-the-way there are several towns within 20 to 30 minutes drive. Ludlow is the fashionable place to visit, but Bishop's Castle has almost everything we needed - including a Co-Op which is also an Amazon Collection Point (it proved very handy on this trip).||Church Stretton is a little further away: the main attractions are the Long Mynd, which we didn't climb on this trip, and Mr Bun the Bakers, which sells the best Eccles cakes I've tasted for decades. So good, we made a detour on our way home to buy some more!

We had a fabulous stay in The Millers Cottage here at Birches Mill. Andrew and Gill are great hosts, available when you need them but otherwise invisible. The cottage was really well appointed and comfortable abd the bed was glorious after long days walking the Shropshire Hills.
We would highly recommend this as a great place to stay, to relax and unwind and enjoy the beautiful countryside.

We have just returned from a really lovely self catering holiday in The Miller's Cottage at Birches Mill. Thank you Gill and Andrew for your warm welcome and your faultless hospitality. Everything had been thought of to make our stay a comfortable and relaxing one, and the home-prepared supper that we ordered for our first evening saved us the bother of going out again after a long journey, and was absolutely delicious. Birches Mill Cottages occupy a peaceful spot in a quiet valley with the most fantastic views all around. We sat outside in the garden at The Miller's Cottage every morning for our breakfast and all you could hear was birdsong and bees buzzing - the perfect spot to sit with a cup of tea to relax and recharge our batteries. We explored Ludlow, Bishop's Castle, the 'black and white' Shropshire village trail, the Long Mynd, Stiperstones and made a visit to Powys Castle, but the best bit of our holiday was walking the footpaths close to the cottage and enjoying the wayside wildflowers and the great views of the Shropshire hills. This really is a lovely place to stay and Gill and Andrew are to be congratulated for the standard of accommodation that they offer. The cottages are tastefully decorated with thoughtful touches that make you feel very much at home. We have no hesitation in recommending Birches Mill Cottages to others. I'm sure we will return.

We have just returned from two weeks holiday in Miller's Cottage at Birches Mill. This is a very well equipped self-catering cottage (for up to 3 people) situated between Bishop's Castle and Clun in South Shropshire. The location is perfect for visiting places in the Marches and for walking (Shropshire Way and Offa's Dyke long distance footpaths are very close by). This cosy cottage has a double and single bedroom, beautifully designed and decorated, with comfortable beds, upstairs, as well as a well-equipped kitchen area, and sitting /dining area with log-burning stove downstairs. The shower in the small bathroom is very good. Eggs, jam, fresh produce and cooked meals are available from the owners. There is a lovely private 'cottage' garden with table and chairs, where we ate most of our meals from breakfast to evening meal, as the weather was glorious. It is a quiet and peaceful spot. We had a most enjoyable holiday and would strongly recommend this place. We hope to return soon!

A warm welcome from the hosts and a well appointed cottage. A nice touch of home cooked mince pies welcomed us once into the cottage. Although small, Mill Stream Cottage is as advertised.||The attention to detail and breadth of kitchen equipment, left everything easy to find and use. The only (ever so slight) down side was the over powerful shower, which left one of us just taking baths so as not to soak the whole bathroom.||We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We stayed in the Millstream Cottage for a week while my husband attended a weekend course nearby. The cottage is in a beautiful setting deep in the countryside and very tranquil. Andrew and Gill have thought of everything that one might need during ones' stay and the whole cottage is tastefully decorated with lovely homely touches. ||||Perfect hosts and thoroughly recommended
