We booked room 2 for our 4 night visit (Monday to Friday), and on arrival, we were quite impressed aesthetically with the room. Until we looked closer. Lots of dust, mould around the shower, skirting in bathroom dirty and radiator, duvet inside out. We were determined not to let this affect our stay and enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant.||Breakfast the next day was enjoyable but we were very disappointed on return from a day out to find our room had not been cleaned. I emailed the manager who responded the next day apologising stating she had been off since Sunday and the room was being cleaned as she was writing the email. ||Again, when we came back Thursday the room had not been cleaned and our door was unlocked! The manager sent the housekeeper up to apologise when I complained! We really did not expect this after Tuesday’s disappointment and felt the apology should have come from the manager. ||I did ask to see the manager on checkout but was told she wouldn’t be in until midday, which meant, to our knowledge , during our time in the hotel, there was no managerial presence. We did receive 10% off our bill but I’m not sure this would have been forthcoming had I not previously said I would expect the bill to reflect the poor service. I did respond back to the hotel when they asked for feedback but did not receive a response. | |This hotel is being advertised, by them, as boutique; it needs, in our opinion, quite a lot of work before it’s at that stage.

Called in today for a drink while my dog was getting groomed locally. Gorgeous little country pub and the staff were really lovely. Will book to come try the food with the family as it looked delicious.

It changed management on October 1st and is a great little pub. The staff were all very friendly, the premises spotless and the food was superbly delicious. Not cheap, but reasonably priced. Certainly not overly expensive, nor a rip-off.

Car run for lunch. 36 of us. The staff were lovely and catered for us very well. Food was good. Toilets clean. Average car parking. Reasonable prices.

Awfull and overpriced food that gave wife and I food poisoning. Recommend don't go there. Dinner was tasteless and soggy, english breakfast way overcooked with awefull tasting hard sausage, black pudding as hard as a hockey puck, dry and hard mushrooms.
Staff attitude was hostile when asked for reduction on checkout even though I offered to pay half food fee. Place must be struggling.
Room tidy, bathroom ok, however toilet fan broken and room fire alarm faulty and went off.
Not happy, won't be returning.
Not recommended.
Stayed late August 2024

Had a wonderful stay at the Blue Bell for our wedding anniversary

Accommodation was first class. Food prepared by Rene was delicious. Antony made us feel very welcome on arrival and Nadine and Leah could not have been more friendly helpful or professional. Well done to all of the Blue Bell team loved spending time here !!

Had high hopes but this place is all fur coat and no knickers.||||On first glance, everything looks fabulous. However, the cleaning standards fell way below what I would expect. We stayed 4 days and our room wasn't cleaned at all. The tables outside look like they're only wiped down once a week. The seats are filthy. Even when we arrived, there were bits all over the carpet in our room so not hoovered properly. The dust was thick. See picture of radio posted here for an idea of what it was like. The shower door didn't close properly. Astonish mildew and mould spray is an excellent product. I suggest they use it in the showers. The loo seat was hanging off. Husband had to go to car to get a tool to tighten it. The cleaner used to ask every morning whether you wanted more tea, towels etc but she didn't make the bed or clean when she went in to deliver the items.||||The restaurant was never busy but service was so slow. The staff seem to congregate at one end gossiping for most of the time. The food was massively overpriced and quite disappointing. My husband's steak pie was doughy and underdone. The monkish scampi was just like Aldi's fish goujons in batter. The sirloin steak is 32 quid!! ||||This establishment urgently needs a manager to get a grip on these things. The sooner, the better.

Visited for steak and Shiraz evening with friends. Really nice meal and decent wine. Only thing that prevents 5 stars is one of the steaks was over cooked. Med rare ordered but was served medium. Great service if a little slow.
