Went for Sunday Lunch after recommendation and will be returning. Lovely welcome from Hosts and all staff attentive. Great menu but we chose the Roasts. Beef exceptional, served pink with the perfect gravy. Unfortunately they had ran out of Cauliflower Cheese (we went late in the day and they had been extremely busy). This is an optional extra but to be honest it didn’t spoil what was a wonderful meal. Drinks very reasonable with extensive wine menu.

Wow what a great place. The food was exceptional, really high quality and clearly a labour of love. And such a lovely location and the staff were great. I can't understand why this place isn't fully booked, it was such an unexpected lucky find!

Yet another outstanding Sunday lunch. Always the warmest welcome and amazing food. |Spoiled for choice with the menu, especially when it is all so good. |Went with every intention of having the pecan pie for pudding but just couldn’t fit in a dessert. Always a good way to brighten the day by going to The Boat especially when it’s raining out. Lovely log burning fire in and the warmest welcome. |We will be returning for a very long time.

One of the best pubs for miles, family run, a complete credit to the area! Amazing service every time, staff are always super friendly. The food is home cooked and fresh, a wide range of drinks options including hand pulled ales and top quality lagers, including the Hawkstone Larger, which is one of the best! There are always offers running including Burger Wednesdays and Steak Thursdays! A great atmosphere complimented by the food, drinks and staff.

We ate last night for the first time and it definitely won't be the last. The staff were attentive and super friendly. The bread & olives were fabulous the best olives we'd had in months, all 4 mains were just great, we thoroughly enjoyed them, my friend said her chicken was the best pub meal she'd had in a long long time, mine was sausage & mash but not just sausage & mash it was delicious. The two men had Belly egg & bubble, and loved it!!
Sweet for one ( we were full) was Eton mess, it was sweet & sour....delicious.
A lovely country pub will visit again

Excellent in every way.

The rooms have everything you need and are great value for money. The wifi needs sorting but it's not something you can't live without.

Now the food and service.

Absolutely 5 stars from us.
From the lovely waiter and waitress to the owners and chef they all go out their way to ensure everything is perfect.

The area has beautiful surroundings and they have a garden with an outdoor bar, they have thought of everything.

The food is outstanding with reasonably priced mains. I do think some of the starters and deserts are on the high side but the quality is excellent.

We have now been 3 times and each time everything has been perfect.

Top tip. The Bulgarian Wine is lovely.

Fantastic food and such a friendly welcome - one of the best pies I’ve had in a long time! We all had something different and everything was delicious. One of the best eating places in the area and such a cosy, friendly pub. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Had a Sunday dinner at The Boat. Service was really good and food was excellent. The pub was clean, tidy and very convivial. One of us had allergies and the staff were helpful sorting out a lovely meal for them. We were a fairly large group and staff managed getting order and food out in a timely manner. Overall a good experience.
