Lovely place and our room was beautiful and quite spacious with everything that you need. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious especially the breakfast. Very good quality products used. We did the muddy paws offer and it was very good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Rating the food rather than the hotel.

Great, high quality ingredients, all locally sourced and seasonal. The menu changes depending on what is seasonal at that time of the year. My husband and I both had the beef burger which was delicious! Good sized portions, friendly service and a beer garden which the locals love! Would recommend!

Simply sublime, from the moment we entered this hidden gem the service was just top notch. We sat at a table for 2 at the fireplace where it felt cozy and homely. We were presented with menus and our drinks order was noted. After choosing from a great variety of foods, we chatted about how quaint and friendly the surroundings and staff were. It was almost a full house, so we were glad we had booked. When our orders came we were more than pleased. The portion sizes were more than generous. When we tucked in to the “Pie” from the specials board, oh lordy, this was just amazing. My husband had the Fish and he also completed on how fabulous it was. We weren’t planning on dessert but we indulged without disappointment. Absolutely outstanding. We can honestly say “we will certainly return”

Nice tasty food, good portions and friendly staff. Grounds and pub were nice and pub had a cosy feel. Did not stay so can't comment on rooms. Prices for food and drinks are quite expensive.

Partner and I enjoyed dinner here on a Friday evening, service was great, staff friendly and knowledgeable, food came in good time. Food was ok, partners steak and vegetable pie, pie crust topping was quite thick, I had fish cakes, they were ok, missing some flavour, spring onion wasn’t cooked enough so hard to cut, seasonal greens were good. A little pricey, £80 for 2 mains and 4 drinks hence the average rating.

We went on a glorious sunny day for a friends 50th birthday lunch. We sat outside for hours. The service was fantastic, our waiter was brilliant and told us about several offers that were available to us, saving us £57 in total. The food was amazing & the cocktails were just what we needed to make the day feel special. For anyone keeping an eye on what they eat, the calories are included on the menu. I’m already planning to go back next Wednesday when they have 25% off food order with the App. Perfect, great food, great location, great service & fantastic value.

Stunning location just off J23 on the M5. The team was friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. We booked a table before the Comedy evening. As it was quite a warm day, we sat in the garden with a drink, before heading in for food. I opted for the Lamb Kofta and it was delicious, full of flavour and an explosion of colour on the plate.

The comedy evening was an absolute hoot, and I recommend if you are looking for something different to do with friends or family. We didn't stop laughing the whole way through. A great experience and will be back for a spot of lunch soon.

As a solo traveler, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at this lovely country pub and hotel! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel right at home. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile—it really made my stay feel special.

The food was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed a tasty pie, packed with flavor and made with fresh, local ingredients. Compliments to the chefs!

My room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was cozy, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind. I also loved the little touches, like the welcome cookies along with the coffee and cafetière facilities.

I felt completely at ease throughout my stay and left feeling refreshed and happy. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling alone or otherwise. (BTW,,, this place is dog friendly pub and hotel too).
