Great little pub with super views across a lake. Beautifully cooked food, fresh and well presented. Dessert menu superb with indulgent dishes such as Spotted Dick, Jam Roly Poly pudding and Sticky Toffee Pudding along with the usual favourites. Decent beers too!

Firstly need to say that the staff were absolutely lovely and the jam sponge and custard was delicious. Sadly the rest of our experience wasn't as good. We were sat at the back of the pub, near the toilets - which we could smell, it was very dark, cold and needed a good clean.
The roast chicken was over cooked and the roast potatoes were under cooked, everything needed seasoning. Considering the quality I think it was over priced at £17.
A real shame as I can see from reviews that others have had a much better experience, hoping this was just an off day in the kitchen.

Having read all the excellent reviews about this pub we chose to meet family for Saturday lunch there. The Harvey‘s was excellent but sadly that was about it. Drafty, service very slow, forgetting drinks, menu not up to date (no pie of the day, no coleslaw or onion rings with the dry burgers “people don’t tend to eat that so we no longer serve it”) no offer of dessert or coffee just being asked repeatedly whether

I’ve been a regular at The Bricklayers Arms for some time, but sadly, it’s lost a bit of its charm lately. The decision to stop serving Guinness on tap has really affected the atmosphere and my mood. it used to be a great spot to enjoy a proper pint with friends and family but now it just doesn’t feel the same. The selection feels incomplete, and for those of us who enjoyed pints of the black stuff, it’s devastating. A pub like this should be about tradition and customer experience, but this change seems to have ignored both. Hopefully, they reconsider. Words can’t describe how lost I feel without the black and gold.

Visited for the first time. Pie of the day was delicious, fresh local meat, huge portions- reminded me of pies in Devon! Mash and chips were good too. Staff were friendly. Parking was on the road, its a small road which I can imagine at peak times would be busy, but there were no parking restrictions. Inside was a little small not a huge amount of seating and the outdoor seating was only 4 tables (overlooking the road and then the lake), but overall a decent reasonably priced country pub with seemingly good quality food. Worth a visit, would recommend opting for their local food!

We had Sunday lunch here last week we hadn't been for a little while so thought we'd go again. The food has gone downhill quite a lot. Me and my wife had a Sunday roast which was pretty tasteless and not very warm when served also not enough gravy with it overall a disappointing meal I could cook better at home.

We have used this pub for a few years now. We went today and it wasn't as good as usual. We wondered if it was under new management. Our chips came heavily salted . I mean really salty. Also one member if staff who served us was outside smoking. Not a good look for the pub. Also I think the prices are high for portion size. We were very dissapointed. For the first time in a few years.
