What an amazing place, absolutely loved it here, really clean and cozy, our host Jenna was amazing too, she went above and beyond to accommodate our stay. The kids absolutely loved her because she painted Easter eggs with them and arranged a fun day out, and as a bonus if you like a full English breakfast then your in for a treat, Jenna’s are legendary. Will definitely be going back.

We booked all four cottages for weekend for our family reunion/birthday party (14 people). Cottages are super cozy and there is heaps of space for kids to run around. Loved the chickens and horses. Jenna is great host and serves amazing (vegan and non vegan) breakfast. We had two vegans in our group and she was able to accommodate them well. Lots of nice walks around and nice village pub in walkable distance.||Definitely recommend to stay. Good for big families / groups for get together.

My husband and I (plus our little dog bertie) have just come back from a long weekend at this wonderful quaint place with lovely tranquil surroundings. From the day we arrived to the day we left Jenna and Martin were the perfect hosts so helpful and accommodating. The place was immaculate and the beds were so comfy. Also the breakfast was absolutely delicious 😋 would definitely recommend this place to anyone, thanks Jenna and Martin for a fantastic stay. ||From a very relaxed and chilled Michelle and Wayne Adams plus Bertie bear😊🐕xx

What a beautiful little find. If you're after a quiet (and I mean the only sound is the vast wildlife) little retreat, where there is plenty of walks and nature this place is absolutely for you!

The room (we stayed in the Robin) is a perfect size for 2 (with or without a dog) has everything you'd expect from self catering and more!
Towels, linen and blankets all provided.

The breakfast....WOW! Perfect cooked breakfast made fresh, we just let Jenna know the night before what time we wanted it.

The host, Jenna has been so helpful, nothing is a bother, always happy to have a chat, but leaves you to your peace.

I would certainly recommend The Burnside to anyone looking for some out of town peace and quiet.

There's 2 pubs within walking distance, the nearest (fully dog friendly) has an amazing Sunday Lunch!

The burnside is set just down the hill from the village, where there are a couple of pubs, which are 10 minutes walk away.||The property is in a rural location, and the room we stayed in was fabulous (The Kingfisher). Everything you could need for a self contained room was there. We were given some fresh milk on arrival with a couple of cakes which was a nice touch. ||The rooms are in what i assume was a converted stable but had plenty of light and was kept arm.||We opted for the breakfast, and there was a wide variety of food, plenty of fresh fruit, and cereal. The english breakfast was lovely, the eggs were free range from the chickens running around.||We loved the place, and it is a good base in a quiet area to explore Northumberland and County Durham.||Thanks, Gill & Gerry

Not long returned from a much needed last minute 2 night break with my two sons.|I needed somewhere relaxing and in the countryside but not too remote and I'm so glad I stumbled across this amazing place.|The cottage was just what I wanted, comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean, with great WiFi for the boys. I can't stress enough how amazing the beds are, with beautiful clean bedding. We all slept extremely well. |We made full use of the kitchen and I made breakfast and supper both nights and everything worked really well. Due to my boys needing lie ins 😴we didn't have breakfast from Jenna but I will 100% take this up next time. |The grounds are stunning, we had a wander round both nights and enjoyed the views, can't wait to return when the weather is better as the wind and rain prevented us from fully appreciating the outdoor space. We did enjoy having hot baths, putting our PJ's on and watching the rain from the living room window, it was so cosy. |Jenna was the perfect host, friendly but not overbearing, left you to your own devices but was there if you needed her. A perfect relaxing getaway! |Hosts were superb, and the accommodation was excellent. Very clean with everything you need. Views and surrounding walks are stunning. Breakfast was beautifully done with a very relaxed feel. Plenty to do locally. |Wouldn't hesitate to return. |Highly recommended.

Had a brilliant stay here last week. The owner was lovely, really friendly and helpful and checked in with us throughout our stay.
We had 2 chalets next door to each other which worked really well for the group. Really comfy mattresses and welcome scones on arrival. The breakfast was excellent quality and delicious, lots of variety. Would definitely recommend
