We stayed here for
two nights. Martina our host was very welcoming, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was faultless. Some reviews have commented about lack of TV but for us it was not a problem. You are there to get away for a while. We are recommending.

This guesthouse is in the heart of the old town. A stones throw from the beach and local shops. We were met by Martina, who was extremely welcoming. She showed us to our room and took time to explain the local area, and advice on parking.||||The room is situated in the basement of this beautiful house. It has it's own private entrance, reached by a small flight of stairs. The stairs are quite steep as it is an extremely old building. Guests with mobility issues may wish to discuss this with the owners before booking. Inside the room there is a king size bed. The decor is superb. Light, airy and exceptionally clean. A lovely selection of good quality toiletries were made available along with fair trade coffee and sugar. En-suite bathroom was spotless. The owners have made fantastic use of the space available. ||||You can have a choice of continental or full-English breakfast. Breakfast was served between 8 and 10am. This is eaten in the main house. Sausages and bacon were free range and tasted lovely. There was real attention to detail and Martina was a superb hostess.||||There is no immediate parking outside the guesthouse. However, there is a large long-stay car park a couple of minutes away. We parked here overnight for just £3.00. ||||We found plenty to do in the old town. There are superb walks high in the cliffs and some quaint shops and eateries nearby. I would highly recommend this place as you will be the only guests staying there. You are free to come and go as you please. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Hastings.

We stayed for two nights. Our host Martina was warm and welcoming. The room is a self-contained basement. The location is terrific, right in the Old Town and opposite the Jerwood Gallery. Terrific cooked and continental breakfasts. Paid parking nearby. Highly recommended.

We stayed here from 25-28 October 2014 (Saturday to Tuesday). ||||The B&B is in a perfect location right behind "Winkle Island", opposite the Stade. In one direction it is within five minutes of the fishing beach with the net huts, aquarium, shipwreck and fishing museums, and beyond a beautiful pebble beach. We explored the area during the days and then, in a moment of inspiration, I proposed walking out to the beach for a second time late Tuesday night, and we got a great bit of star-gazing in on a beautiful, deserted, dark pebble beach. In the other direction it's within five minutes of Hastings Old Town. I don't think the location could be improved, it's exactly where you want to be.||||We arrived in the late evening on the Saturday and Martina greeted us at the door and found out what time we would like breakfast the next morning and what we would like to have. I'll come back to the wonderful breakfasts! She then gave us a little map of the town and a few pointers on events and places of interest, and showed us to the room. We saw her daily for breakfast and she said just to come up or ring her mobile if we ever needed anything, but otherwise we were entirely left to our own devices. A perfect balance of accommodation and privacy.||||There is only one room and it's in the lower ground floor, with a separate entrance to the main house. It's quiet and private and we had very good nights' sleep, with just a little wobble Tuesday morning which I think might have been bin day and then someone's car alarm went off at length. Which of course isn't the B&B's fault.||||The room has heat and Wifi but no TV or radio. This isn't a problem for us at all and if, like us, you either don't care much about watching TV and want to be out and about, and/or when you do watch things it's using Wifi on a computer or tablet, then it's fine, but if it so happens you would want a TV, be forewarned that there isn't one.||||There was a good stock of tea (black and herbal) and instant coffee (caffeinated and decaf), and sugar (all of these were Fair Trade) and creamers (organic), two mugs, some lovely (vegan!) digestive biscuits, bottles of water with glasses. In the bedside table there was a sheaf of leaflets about the area.||||The bathroom is a good size but you must sit down to bathe even if you're using the shower, as there is a tub with no shower curtain. This wasn't an issue at all for me, only a minor nitpick for the other half. Good water pressure, and well-stocked with toiletries. We'd brought our own but would have been fine if we'd forgot.||||The breakfasts were just lovely, all of the food was delicious. My vegan fry-up was tomatoes and mushrooms, beans, toast, a veggie sausage, and lovely little handmade sweet potato and pea cakes. My partner had scrambled eggs as well. I was impressed by the little touches like a separate jug of soy milk for my tea and beautifully creamed margarine in a pot alongside a separate pot of butter. Yoghurt/soy yoghurt and orange juice on the side. Delicious homemade (vegan) banana bread for afters. We started our days very full!||||All in all I can't imagine we'd look to stay anywhere else if returning to Hastings.
