Was not our first choice for a meal out, only came here as our first choice was fully booked.
But so glad we did go, the food was excellent and the staff very friendly the portions were very large and I surprised myself by eating everything and managed a pudding, will definitely be calling in again

Used to be a great pub. Been going for years. Now under new ownership, staff couldn't care less and act like you're inconveniencing them. Food not what it was - overpriced, we and the people on table next to us left half our meals on our plates because of the bad quality. ||Fortunately this lovely village has other pubs/restaurants!

We were staying at Bellingham caravan and camping club and decided to try The Cheviot for tea on our first night and first time to the area, as it is dog friendly. We sat in the bar area with having the dogs which was nice and relaxed. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food, was absolutely amazing!! Presentation, quality, taste, everything about it was first class. Highly recommend ?

Stopped for lunch after a long walk. A very welcoming atmosphere and pet friendly. Rebecca, (sorry if spelt incorrectly) was attentive and provided an excellent service. The best steak and ale pie ever with fresh veg and chips, highly recommend ?.

We have been to the Cheviot a few times for a drink but decided to try the food. We were placed in the adjoining dining room as the pub itself was full. We were both very satisfied with our dinner choices, food was hot and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly , shout out to Harriet who looked after us. We will be back ?

Excellent Sunday Lunch
Returned tonight fir another Excellent meal. You have a great chef. Bar Staff are very pleasant and helpful .
We will return when holidays bring us back to Billingham. Thank you

Cycling the Reivers Way it is well placed but expensive and they have outsourced breakfast to a local cafe.
Room was fine.
Dinner was busy. Waited almost an hour for the food to arrive. Quality of food is good. Cheery service.
The kitchen closes at 8pm and the place is deserted soon afterwards

Great food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Felt like a really good pub, and had some good local beers on draught.

Would recommend if you're in the area!
