A mate and I stayed here overnight on a Saturday. The room ‘Pasture Holt’ was clean, spacious, well equipped, and very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, and had an excellent good sized shower. The pub itself was lovely and warm, with an open log fire. It was cosy and atmospheric, with a really nice collection of customers. All of the staff were polite and personable. We had a superb meal of venison, followed by the cheese board. All was incredibly tasty, and service was very good. Breakfast the following morning was also top notch with great choices available. The chef was congratulated on presenting some of the finest food I’ve enjoyed at any dining establishment for some time. Special mentions to Natalie who manages the bar so well, together with the two Nicks who are the magicians who conjure up the marvellous food.

When i visited this very Beautiful and Stunning Establishment. Wanted to go out somewhere and a Good couple of days away, somewhere different and where i could just Relax and have some me time. I met some very Lovely and Welcoming people, that were also staying at this Gorgeous Establishment. Had some very Lovely Food, Drink and it really re-set my mind and boosted my Confidence in me. We had a table booked yesterday for Sunday lunch. 2 adults 2 children. The food was excellent, couldn't fault it, so compliments to the chef. However, customer service was not great. We waited half for our plates to be cleared, then another wait to be asked for desserts. No one came to ask if our meal was ok, even though it was. My partner ended up asking for the bill twice, the first girl we asked turns out went home at 5 and didn't pass the information on to anyone. We felt very forgotten about. By the end of it we felt quite drained through all the waiting. Even though the food was lovely, we will not be returning due to lack of customer service.

Very comfortable room, spotlessly clean. Lots of different drink options in the room, including coffee bags and a range of teas. Fresh milk and water in the fridge. Food was stunning: huge breakfast which was delicious and two excellent evening meals in the pub. The pies were superb 😍 Lovely staff, plenty of parking, super quiet village - thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful place to stop off with our dogs on journey north. We were unexpectedly diverted off the A1 which meant we were late and Ian couldn’t have been more helpful, even saying he’d keep the kitchen staff behind if necessary so we could have supper (thankfully we ended up arriving just in time to avoid this). Spacious room quietly positioned away from the main building, huge portions in the dining room, nice details (fresh milk in fridge in room, freshly-picked blackberries at breakfast), friendly atmosphere and gorgeous, unspoilt village.

What an absolute gem of a find!!
We recently relocated to the UK and have been told by all of our friends that 'You must find a proper English pub with good food and vibe and you need to find a good farm shop' so we have been to a few and have just been so disappointed every time. It just so happened I was looking for a farm shop and Jade's Fine Foods was recommended. A quick 10min drive and on walking in I could just feel that this was my kind of shop and Jade was so welcoming and just amazing! Jade is a huge foodie and when I found out that it was her family that owned the pub next door it was on my list of places to try! You generally can't go
Wrong when there is a passion for food and when there is a love for artisanal products! They did not disappoint! My husband had the Big Roast! go hungry! The helpings are generous!! Our close friend had the special which was Chicken, Ham and Leek pie which she wolfed down and I had the 1/2 roast chicken! The sharing vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked. The children had ice cream for dessert and we had a very delicious but again very generous apple and rhubarb crumble! Since arriving in the UK this lunch has been ranked as one of my best meals so far! The ladies that were serving were so lovey and the gentlemen that was helping with drinks was an absolute character! We felt at home and were extremely well fed! They have some

Food at the pub was lovely and the rooms were excellent. Very cosy and lovely high ceilings. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was superb. Highly recommend A+++++++
