I live in Leominster, right between Ludlow and Hereford. We'd planned to take a trip to Gloucester, but put that off because of flooding. For the same reason, we decided not to travel to our usual go-to restaurant ( Sensory and Rye ) in Hereford, but we thought Ludlow might be a safe bet to reach. I'd been to The Church before, but many years ago. I remembered it being a good pub/restaurant, so in we went. Luckily for us we found an unreserved table. We were served by a very polite and pleasant young lady , Reannon , who took our order promptly. We had Chicken Supreme for me and my partner ordered Sea Bass on a bed of parsnip mash. Both dishes arrived about 20minutes later, accompanied by fresh vegetables of the season and I also had a side order of Cauliflower cheese. To say it was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious would sound like an understatement. Even now, several hours later, I can still savour every mouthful. We didn't have time for starters or dessert, but next time, we will certainly have at least two courses. I love eating out, and on the basis of today's food I would already place The Church In as one of my favourite eateries. Many thanks to Reannon and the kitchen crew for a great experience.

Lovely room!! We really enjoyed our stay here. The bed was nice and comfortable, toiletries along with coffee making bits were provided. Good view over Ludlow town, although you can hear quite a lot from outside due to the period windows but it didnt bother us. Wish we had of stayed longer and we will certainly stay again. Pictures don't do it justice at all.

Excellent unpretentious pub food. Everything appeared to be made in house, and nothing tasted like it had come out of the freezer. Even the mushy peas seemed freshly produced. Range of four cask ales in good condition to boot.

Over 3 days we had dinner, a few drinks, and Sunday lunch here.|On each occasion the food was awesome, and the service brilliant.|Food and drinks are very well priced, and are of high quality. It’s a cosy pub with a great feel about it. The fact that they have a big restaurant section does not detract from the great English pub feeling in the bar area.|The staff all seem to be happy and engaged, and this leads to a great atmosphere. |The Chef should be complemented on providing very high quality food at great prices.

I didn't stay at the Church Inn so cannot comment on the rooms, but my family and I visited Ludlow for a few hours and stopped off here for lunch. I had the pie and chips and can confirm that it is a proper pie rather than a glorified casserole! By that, I mean it is fully encased in pastry, rather than being served in a dish with a pastry lid. The staff were very friendly and the food came out promptly. Food, service, and venue were all great - would recommend the Church Inn.

We stayed at this inn for just one night on a stopover to our home in Hampshire following a family funeral in Liverpool. We have made such a stop before in a, possibly, more well known black and white fronted hotel in the town. We are now agreed that the next time we pass through Ludlow we will always try to stay at the Church Inn. Every aspect of our stay was well above expectations. The staff are very helpful and friendly; the food quality is very high (evening meal and breakfast); our room was well appointed and the bed was the most comfortable that we have slept in for a very long time! The only negative for those with mobility issues is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep - I am in my late 70s and managed to make it to the top with only a few sharp intakes of breath!! The Church Inn is not a 5* hotel with inflated standards - it is a homely and friendly town pub with rooms that does everything right. We would like to thank all the staff for a very pleasant stay and look forward to returning in the future
