Excellent hotel. Booked a small standard double room and was expecting something basic, particularly as it was quite cheap. How wrong! Room was perfect! Clean with everything needed, hairdryer, ironing board,parking etc. Really comfortable. Hotel has a lovely bar and restaurant, though we ate in York. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Ideal location for York city, just a five minute walk. Definitely intent to stay here on our next visit. Thank you Churchill Hotel.

Not staying at the hotel but ate in the restaurant this evening. We both had a really lovely steak meal which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Our waitress ( think her name was Rach) was excellent & without doubt is a fabulous asset to the hotel. She so deserves a shout out :-).

I recently stayed at The Churchill Hotel in York for a night, and overall, it was a great experience!

The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable! Just be aware that the walls are a bit thin, so you may hear some noise from adjacent rooms.

A highlight of our stay was the igloo experience - it was a unique and fun way to enjoy a meal. The pizzas were delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and intimate.

However, parking was a bit of a challenge - it was tricky to find a spot, and the £19 for a day felt a bit steep.
Despite this, the hotel's proximity to York's main tourist attractions was a major plus.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend The Churchill Hotel as a great place to stay in York - just be prepared for the parking challenges!

We had amazing 2 course meals . pork belly to start followed by beef cheeks, and beef cheeks followed by lemon meringue pie and lemon curd ice cream. Such good value too! Never had better meals- so tasty. Service excellent in the evening.
Didn't feel the breakfasts were such good value. Overpriced without being anything special!
That was the only disappointment of our stay.

Stayed for 2 nights in the Bunker suite.

Service from all staff was exemplary.

Really friendly and so very welcoming.

Eggs Benedict at breakfast was really tasty

Room was quirky. Made for a lovely stay.

Room was spotlessly clean. Shower was nice and hot with an overhead drench head.

Loved the style of the hotel, very nice ambience to it with great decor.

Cocktails in the bar are well made.

Highly recommended.

We stayed from 22nd to 24th March. Booked direct with Ian, who was super friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Parking was a big plus. Only a short walk into the centre. The breakfasts were amazing. Our room was small but lovely and comfortable . The bar area was really good although they need to stock Jack Daniels lol. We had drinks in the igloos on the front of the hotel, and it was quirky and fun. This was our first stay but our go-to now every time we visit york, which is 2 or 3 times a year.

Loved everything about the hotel from it's location, the ability to park on site and the 2 restaurants. The decor is truly outstanding throughout the entire hotel. The designer has captured the Winston Churchill feel with class and elegance in an understated tone that just hit's the mark. I really cannot express enough how impressed I was at the tastefully done the decor. The whole place feels like an elegant old modern english gentlemen's club. The other thing that made our stay so enjoyable was Rachel who not only went out of her way to greet us and inform us about the area when we arrived, she helped us out of a car dilema by continuing to look for booster cables till she found some as we left our car lights on. We will most certainly recommend this little gem to others. Such a nice find that made our stay all the more memorable. Love the Pods in the garden too...great atmoshere for pizza and a beer!

I stayed here for a solo night in York and the experience was lovely, I did use the hotel to rest so didn’t try the restaurant but felt so welcomed by the man on the front desk and so comfy throughout my stay. The room was gorgeous, clean and very well decorated and the outside area is perfect for sitting in the sun. York centre is a 5 minute walk from here so couldn’t the more perfect.
