Turkish baths are lovely and relaxing, great value for money. Beautiful clean and quiet pool, few different sauna temperatures and full on steam room with cold showers. Great way to unwind, towel to sit on and flip flops provided. So glad they’ve properly restored it!

I canceled my Essential membership today (the 13th) due to poor management, inconsistent group classes, and unfair cancellation policies.

Key Issues:
• Unreliable group classes – frequent cancellations, schedule changes, and inconsistent coaching based on the trainer’s personal preference.
• Poor hygiene – showers, changing rooms, and gym areas are not well-maintained.
• Management ignores feedback – despite raising these concerns in regular surveys, no improvements have been made.

On top of this, I now have to pay for an extra month due to their one-sided cancellation policy, which feels unfair and unreasonable.

Final Verdict:

This gym lacks consistency, cleanliness, and fair policies. After months of frustration, I can’t recommend it to anyone looking for a properly managed fitness center.

I go here multiple times a week. I use the pool and the gym. It is perfectly located in the heart of the city centre and rarely gets overcrowded. It is adults only to my knowledge (16 or 18+) so no annoying kids.

The pool is normally quiet compared to other pools, as it is generally used for lane swimming and casual swimmers from the Baths. It makes it better as kids are not allowed. Some of the negative reviews on here are complaining that the pool is not heated, however that is wrong, it is heated but they normally keep it cool as the main purpose of it is lane swimming. It has been set to a warmer temperture in the past but it makes swimming difficult. Some of the other negative reviews are saying they dont tell you when things are out of use. They mark it as unavailable on the app and it is always well sign posted when you go in. I have never used the baths before, but I imagine if you have booked and something isn't available, im sure you would be refunded. Just make sure you mention it before you use their facilities.

The gym is a decent size and rarely gets too busy where you can't use certain equipment. The only thing I would like to change is their opening hours e.g. weekends. The staff are normally friendly and will always help when you need it.

I have been going for a year and have only seen a staff member be 'snappy' once. We all have bad days and we don't know what is going on behind closed doors. They really werent that bad either.

My next step is to try the turkish baths. Hopefully I enjoy it, and if so I may increase my membership. I am currently on the core membership at £44/month (pool/gym) which also includes things like 3 PT sessions a year. The premium membership is £90, which includes everything including Baths and brings 3/4 friends a month. I know both are on the expensive side however it offers resources that you will struggle to find elsewhere in the city.

Booked Turkish Baths + Swim for £21.50. After arrived and fully changed into swimming gear, found that the swimming pool was indefinitely closed from what seemed to be a leaky ceiling, and both the steam room and sauna were broken. So the only thing working were the tepidarium rooms. None of this was mentioned at booking or by staff when arriving. Genuinely a scam.

The gym is standard. The pool isn't heated... Not a problem given the vintage style. The Turkish baths is getting to be a bit of a joke. The steam isn't steamy, and it's really not worth the value of their ticket price. I'm emailing for a refund wish me luck.

If your looking for a romantic spa day look elsewhere.

Really enjoyed my truffle champagne facial the facial was very relaxing love the face and neck massage the spa staff are really friendly and helpful 60 minute facial for £82.00 is well worth the money. I will come back another spa treatment in the future.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM! DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!

I have never written a review for anything in my life, but this gym has infuriated me so much that I feel like I must. I requested to pause my membership and then cancel it a month or so later. I gave the required notice and did it via the required means. Nobody replied to my emails. I had to go into the gym multiple times in person but they were unable to help. I was charged £80 in total for months that I should not have been. They have never paid me back despite months of emailing, ringing and going in in person. Nobody was able to sort it. Daylight robbery. Don’t waste your time/money with this gym.

I went to the spa, and some of the facilities were not working, which the staff neither let me know. As I am an older person, the staff were not bothered about my experience and seemed only interested in the money and not the customer.
