So where to start. |Mum and Dad stayed here a few years ago for their anniversary and couldn't fault it so thought they would go back for mums 75th birthday. Looking on website and seeing the pics all looking the same as before they thought great. How wrong were they. |So firstly false advertising as it was nothing like the pics. Even before getting to the front door there was broken furniture and glass bottles all in the front garden and the steps must of been used as the ashtray as a rough guess at least 300 fag butt's. |Pressed the bell no answer and again no answer so opened the door to then have to look for someone. When found explained had booking to be told "no booking no booking" so replied yes have a booking to be told again the same. After being taken to the ladies husband and explaining that have a booking and said name and showed conformation was then told it was a mistake as hotel wasn't ready . Well you didn't have to look to far to see that, mattresses against the walls, dirty overloaded bins everywhere , washing everywhere and not one english speaking person. We was then marched about 15 down the road to his boss to be looked at up and down and told again " I think we have made a mistake taking your booking" . Safe to say we didn't stay for the booking and spent the next 5 hours travelling back home as completely ruined her birthday weekend. If your gonna advertise it even falsely make sure its not being used as a hotel by the council. |AVOID AVOID AVOID

The photos that the hotel uses to advertise the hotel are not real. The hotel is in poor condition, there is mold on the walls and the carpet, the carpet is dirty and the bathroom too, the wallpaper is hanging off the walls, it smells very damp and the kitchen is not available, so if you make your reservation with breakfast included it will not be possible, I would not recommend eating there, even if the service was available, the conditions of the hotel and rooms are terrible, I can imagine why the kitchen is closed...

We arrived at the guesthouse early and phoned the owners/staff on arrival. They were very helpful and sorted the parking for the street outside the guesthouse. We were upgraded due to repairs being carried out in one of our originally booked rooms. The customer service was excellent and is everything you would expect from a guesthouse. ||In terms of the accommodation and cleanliness we found it to be very good. The room was clean and well furnished. We benefitted from a nice balcony which was small however offered just that extra little aspect to the room. ||Upon checking out we asked to extend the parking which was done and any other questions we had were dealt with quickly. The location of the guesthouse is great and is right by the seafront next to bars/restaurants and the beach.

Absolutely awful experience. First of all the sink wasn’t in the bathroom which we thought was very odd as it was opposite to our bed. Then we found the bin in one of our rooms was not emptied. Hair had also been found in one of the beds and there was no lock on the bathroom door ! We really felt there was just a lack of effort put into the accommodation. Also very noisy at early hours in the morning hence the complimentary earplugs. |However there was a great balcony with good sea views.

Absolute disgraceful! Booked via a 2 night stay in May for September! |Drove 4 hours to get there for check in after 3pm as stated to be told couldn’t check in until 6pm. Went back at 6pm to be told that because we booked via a buyagift that our rooms were cancelled in March! How was it cancelled in March when I didn’t even book until May? |Apparently the room advertised isn’t the room you get but that room is still being advertised now! |So we were stuck miles away from home with no where to stay and still false advertising! So we are now £70 out of pocket for a room we had to pay for that no one will reimburse me for the money we had to spend! No communication from the hotel or company and now out of pocket! Joke

Great stay at The Collingwood Guest House, Nice room,Very clean and tidy, with all the necessary. Perfect location, the guest house is literally few meters from the beach. Great breakfast and very nice and helpful host !
Can't complain at all ,I would highly recommended.

Was supposed to stay here for a week 27/7/24 to 3/8/24 but 7pm the night before we received an email saying that they have had to close due to a burst water pipe that happens a week before hand and couldn't accommodate us, why they didn't let us know as soon as it happened I don't know 😕 was so angry as had to rush round trying to find somewhere else at such short notice. Would have scored 0 out of 5 if that was possible

I booked 2 rooms in january only for one night 28th May 2 days before arriving was told they had to move us to a different guest house . The guest house we were moved to was cold, damp, the shower did not work , fire exit was blocked tried to ring them no answer would not use them again
