We stayed in the Chaucer room which was very nice though the bathroom was very small, with no room to put wash bags. Although the shower was very good. The tea & coffee supplied was good & it was nice to have proper milk & chilled water in the fridge. The continental breakfast delivered to the room was very nice.
The room was in the back, so was fairly quiet.
It was disappointing not being able to get a voucher for the nearby carpark as the computer system was down.

We have just had a really lovely dinner and overnight stay for our anniversary, which was made even more enjoyable by the excellent service from the young waiters here. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, it's understated, but the food quality definitely isn't. Locally sourced ingredients transformed into uncomplicated, delicious dishes. We had the slow cooked lamb , which was beautifully soft with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Their brown bread ice cream is amazing and the blood orange sorbet full of flavour . We were staying the night in the Dickens Room , so didn't have far to go after . Our room was a really nice size , homely and warm - a touch too warm for me at night , but had we read the instructions properly , we could have cooled it down more. It's on the main road, but surprisingly not very noisy at all and they provide little earplugs in case. The breakfast was amazing! The most delicious homemade granola, yogurt, treacle bread toast and pain au chocolate. Oh, and an apple. Lots of tea, coffee hot chocolate provided and fresh milk in the fridge. We loved our short stay and would highly recommend both restaurant and room . We'll be back !

We decided to have a cheeky weekend away in Canterbury and chose to stay at the Corner House overnight, our room was really lovely, spacious and clean and we had a good nights sleep followed by a delivered cute breakfast which was plentiful. Shower was so nice!

We arrived on a Sunday and arranged to meet with family to eat at the Corner House.

Emma our waitress was just so lovely and extremely tentative with great patients.

My brother in law and I had the sharing lamb shoulder and it was the best lamb I’ve ever tasted by far, so succulent and perfectly cook.

My husband & his sister had the sharing beef wellington, they gave me a taste and that to was incredibly delicious 🤤

Top service, top food!

We went to thank the chef in the morning as to show our appreciation.

Highly recommend this hotel & restaurant! I personally think it’s worth more than a 5!

Will definitely be returning!

Thank you to all the staff and chefs as it was clear how hard they work.

This was hands down one of the best Sunday roasts or meals I have ever had! On arrival we got a bottle of water and homemade bread with butter and that was simply delicious! Smoked salmon for a starter was light but packed with flavour from pickled cucumbers and beetroot puree. For main I picked roast topside of beef and that was amazing! You get a good portion of tender beef with the most amazing gravy. Honestly, I'm not sure what they put into it but I could drink that gravy on its own! I had chocolate torte which was a great finish. We will definitely come back as the food was superb! If you do want to come on Sunday I 100% recommend booking a table - you can do that on their website which is super easy.

Excellent service, welcoming from the get go. We stayed in the Darwin room which was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The break was delivered to the room and was lovely. Slightly noisy from the traffic on the main road but free ear plugs are supplied and and very comfy bed meant a great night's sleep. Less that 3 minutes walk to be in the centre of town

Some of the best dishes I have ever tasted. A beautiful setting, attentive staff. Great wine list with plenty of affordable options by the glass, designed for experimentation.

But the food is by far the brightest star. The savoury blue cheese cheesecake with beetroot jam is the most stunning dish I have tasted this year; and the flavour will be something I remember for years to come. Everything was excellent, but also deserving of special mention was the dark chocolate torte with hazelnuts blackberry sorbet. A stunning mixture of flavours, executed perfectly.

Had the recent pleasure of having a top class graduation dinner at the corner house as a party of 13!!!! The staff are nothing but amazing and are more than capable of entertaining large crowds. The food was nothing short of fantastic, catering for people with various dietary requirements. Also received regular emails and clear reminders of the booking, staff very accommodating when needing booking amending. Thank you for making a social day even more memorable, filled with lots of Irish love.

Many thanks
