We visited The Cornish Arms on Mother’s Day for dinner

Everyone and everything from our first minute entering the gastropub was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food from kids dishes to adults, starters, mains, deserts everything was incredibly delicious. The hake with it mashed potatoes and sauce was something out of imagination.

Visited The Cornish Arms whilst holidaying in Tavistock and we had a three course dinner which was stunning. Every course was delicious and full of flavour, the service was fantastic and there was a great range of wines and drinks available. Would definitely recommend and come back if we were in the area again!

Went for dinner with the family and friends and we were all extremely impressed.

The service was excellent. From entering to leaving, everyone was great, everyone was friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we were well looked after.

The food was fantastic, every dish from the childrens to adults, starters, mains and desert was amazing. Well presented, cooked to perfection and extremely tasty.

We'll definitely go back when in the area again and would highly recommend going there.

My first visit, for a comfortable and chatty lunch out with family. The service was friendly and attentive, and the haddock and chips with minted mushy peas excellent, perfectly cooked and imaginatively presented to make this much more than your average fish-and-chip lunch. Wish I lived a little nearer than Kent!

Amazing food and atmosphere! Staff were incredibly friendly and my partner and I had a lovely evening! Scotch egg starter was to die for! They wrote me a card for my birthday which was so sweet (I’m so sad I forgot it though because I had a few too many 🤪)! Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Food is amazing.
If you want a great meal, cooked by what are clearly an experienced team of chefs then this is the place to go. You absolutely get what you pay for. My late father was a chef. Army trained so I'm a self appointed critic. Yep. Hands down some of the best gastro grub around.

We have eaten at the Cornish Arms on a number of occasions and knew that the food was excellent. However, this was the first time that we have stayed there. It did not disappoint. The rooms are of a very high standard. Best of all is the exceptional service. The team are so friendly and helpful. Even sending on without charge the wallet that my son left behind. ||As you would expect, the food and service at breakfast was great. ||The only downside is the potential for noise from the street. However, that didn’t impact our stay. ||Highly recommended.

Absolutely stunning food, best roast we've ever had. Every detail of flavour carefully attended to and well balanced. Good wine list too. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Would go again in a heartbeat.
