This was our second visit to The Cottage and it was another wonderful weekend. Derek is a perfect host - friendly, welcoming and couldn't do more for us. The full english breakfast was very good. We had the garden room again which is very quite and tucked away at the bottom of the private garden. The room and shower room are very clean and we had everything we need - free wifi, towels, dressing gowns, refreshments, tv, fan and even cutlery and plates so you can eat outside on your private dining area. Derek really does go that extra mile to make sure his guests are looked after and have everything they need for a pleasant stay. Thank you so much Derek and see you again next year hopefully.

We stayed here for a one night stop en route north. We needed a haven and we found it. Much more of a flat than a b&b room. Loads of little extras, warm, cosy and clean. Great breakfast too - the Son was really impressed by Derek's coin collection. Taking the dog was a bonus from our perspective, but I might not take him again as he found the cats and chickens outside the door stressful. But I would stay here again! Could do a weekend, easily.

My Husband and I spent one night in the flat with our little dog after visiting family who live locally. It is very cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Derek made us feel very welcome and we loved all the little extras he included like small bottles of wine, sweets and fruit. The breakfast was delicious too - couldn't ask for more.

We have stayed in The Flat at the B&B on a self catering basis. It's extremely well equipped with a great range of cooking equipment, very comfortable lounge chairs and beds. It's ideal for 2 people.||The toiletries are very good quality, as are the bedding and towels. Soft drinks and milk were left in the fridge for us, tea, coffee and very tasty biscuits were also available :)||There is adequate parking on site, the property is well located for the centre of brackley, but set back off the main road so very quiet. ||We would certainly stay again.

My stay in The Flat was very comfortable and cosy! Very well equipped with lots of extra details. My dog and I were made very welcome. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful garden, tucked away so very peaceful but easy access to the main routes. Would recommend a stay here.

When I arrived, I was greeted by Derek who showed me where I needed to go. I was under the impression that I would be staying in the house and not the shed/wood cabin in the garden. However I'll be honest, initially I wasn't that disappointed as there was a very unpleasant smell of stale smoke in the house.||I was shown to where I would be sleeping and apart from the damp and musky smell I thought it would be ok just for one night.||I asked Derek if the pillows or duvet were feather (as I am allergic to feathers!!) and was told that they defiantly weren't feather! After Derek left I thought I would double check just to make sure, and I could feel and see that the duvet was in fact feather. I went back to speak to him to say that I was pretty sure they were feather and would it be possible to find a duvet that wasn't feather.||Derek then told me several times that I was wrong and that they couldn't possibly be feather (this making me feel quite uncomfortable). He then rang the housekeeper to check and she said that there was one feather duvet and if we were unsure we could check the label and that would say.||Derek and me went and checked, to find that it did in fact say goose feather and down. There was no apology or any acknowledgement that he had wrongly accused me of lying. He went off to find me a replacement and returned saying that this one was defiantly not feather. After he left, I checked again to find that the replacement was also feather!!! I reluctantly returned to Derek who argued with me again, and said that they are all allergen free. I have heard of no such thing as allergen free feather duvets! (and neither have anyone else I have spoken to). ||I gave up in the end and said I would sleep with just the duvet sheet and the blanket that was on the bed. I went back to the room and thought I would check the pillows just to be on the safe side, only to find that these were feathers also! I couldn't bear to go back a third time and Derek was less that helpful the first two times I went to see him., so I made a make-shift pillow and thought that would have to do. The blanket that I had to use had several unpleasant looking stains on them and when I checked the shower room, the head of the shower was disgusting!||I didn't go to the recommended Chequered Flag that was recommended as when I checked, the reviews were terrible! I managed to find a pub about 6 miles away called The Robin Hood which was well worth the travel! The food was incredible, the open fire was great and the homemade beef burger was the best I have ever had so I would highly recommend!||Sadly i then had to come back to the Cottage B&B to get some sleep.||When I returned, the room was like an oven (and there was no way of turning it down) so I had to turn it off. The timer switch it was connected to, was so noisy I had to turn it off. I then woke up in the middle of the night, freezing cold and a blocked nose as there was a terrible draft!||When I went over to the house for breakfast, I wasn't asked how my night had been and what the room had been like, and due to my experience of trying to speak to Derek the night before, I didn't feel comfortable bringing up the conversation.||When I helped myself to the cooked breakfast, I found a hare on my plate from one of the food items which then put me off eating the rest of the food.||||To be honest I just wanted to get the hell out of there by that point!||I left feeling very disappointed about the whole experience, and not to mention tired and hungry.||||The worst B&B / Hotel experience I have ever had by a long way!
