The lady who served us was great fun and gave great service (name escapes me but worked lunch on 16/10). The location is stunning and I was born here but still great. The charge for parking is annoying. The food was all ok and what you would expect at this type of pub. Lots of fried and warmed up food you could make yourself but all ok. Everyone says and always has that this could be amazing.

Recently organised a dinner party for a group of 15 people. Lindsay who waited on us was so helpful and timely and made sure all guests were taken care of very well. The food was really good- thanks to the chef. They also gave us enough space and privacy. The view was stunning and it was a beautiful evening I will remember fondly. The parking system could be easier or more clearly explained near the parking meter.

Pretty terrible restaurant. Such a shame, was lovely a few years ago and in a great location with so much potential. Food was just reheated microwave food. Fries were almost like they had been reheated 3 or 4 times, chicken was dry, could go on. Just not worth even half the price we paid. Plates from starter not cleared until main arrived and mains not cleared at all and we didn't leave for 30 minutes after we had finished. Ordered 1 main, came back 5 minutes later to say not in stock so chose an alternative. Came back another 5 minutes later to say that's not available either so ended up with third choice meal. This then arrived 6/7 or so minutes after everyone else's. Just not a pleasant experience, trust the reviews from here before choosing to come.

Went for tea yesterday smelt very strongly of drains outside The ladies toilet hand drier not working no paper towels to use as a contingency. Food was presented on chipped plates which is unacceptable . We found the food was expensive . First time we have visited in a year I think a bit of TLC is needed decor looking tired. Staff was lovely

I have always liked it here. Good selection of spirits, beers and drinks on tap. Food is really nice and the specials menu is always good. Great location, really lovely at night time with all the lights. It’s a place I also take family and friends who come to visit.

We went here for hot drinks and a small bite to eat. Food was nice but not good value for money, Paid £4 for chips and only got 12, portion really small. Paid additional for a piece of chicken to go with the chips and it was tiny. We waited 15 mins for food and our coffees still hadn't arrived, had to wait a further 10 minutes for them. Staff were friendly but value for money and time waiting for drinks wasn't great

Dogs are outside only.
We only ate here after walking through the Country park/ chalk quarry we did not stay in the rooms so cannot comment on them.
