Spent a very pleasant hour at this pub. We called in just for a soup and a roll at lunchtime. Mine host was very accommodating and found us a cosy table in his busy pub. Soup and roll were first class and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Also there was a young woman who started singing, who we could not see, but could hear, with a lovely voice, who apparently came from Ryde and had been booked. Clean toilets, would certainly go there again. On a nice day, lovely place to sit out overlooking the sea.

We had lunch with our children aged 6 and 9. I was aware of this place before visiting the Isle of wight and was one of my places I wanted to visit purely for the potential seafood options available. The menu was varied with plenty of seafood options to which we opted for the seafood platter to share. This was pricey but expected as they usually are. The kids options were good with both going for a burger. The outside seating area has stunning views of the sea and we were blessed with very hot weather.||The platter looked great however I did feel a bit disappointed in that if it weren't for the chips, salad and mussels I would have still been hungry as the rest of the platter only consisted of a whole seabass, a few prepared prawns and then a few whole prawns and langostines. I guess there is a reason to return to try something else from the menu. Both kids were satisfied so overall it was a good meal.

One of my most favourite pubs on The Isle Of Wight as I've been coming here ever since I was a kid. It's right next to the sea on a really warm day or evening it's beautiful, especially since it's right next to the sea. So you get an amazing view of all the ships and boats out in the water. The food is perfect and super fresh with lots of choice from their menu, plus the desserts are delicious. The staff are lovely as well

Booked. Local parking can be an issue.
Food was average and not expertky cooked, especially when you pay £80 for a hot seafood platter.
We also waited a long time despite then starting a strict staggered start time.
Service was OK even of the manager seemed to have a bit of an attitude.
The location was great and the decor very nice too. I hope we were just an exception and that other guests have a different experience. It could be so nice.

I've been coming here for many years, but had a few years gap recently. The pub itself is very similar and provides a cost atmosphere for a catch up with friends.

I noted that parking is even more limited there now they have taken half of the already small car park and added extra outside seating.

Service was reasonably - not overly quick and one dish had to be remade as it was dropped so one in our group had to wait

Food is good quality and tasty, however the prices are significantly higher than they used to be. A whole lobster at their market rate was £70.

Seems quieter than it used to be and feels like the prices have gone up to balance that out. Probably will not return as there are better options for seafood in the village.

Had dinner here . Around £35 each person for a main course and one drink including optional service charge.
Food was OK. No ketchup available when we asked...which seems odd when serving burgers and chips . We were offered salt though. Perhaps more geared up for more mature diners. Lovely location ....especially when the sun is shining. Friendly staff.

Found this place as an alternative after traveling to another local restaurant which was closed. On approach to the place it looked a little tired but we gave it a try. The service was good and very attentive but the food was no better than average pub food. The Crab salad was ok but just basic salad from a bag you get at a supermarket with some new potatoes. At £26 I was expecting something a bit special but no, it was worth half what I paid. I know prices have gone up but I would expect to pay this price in a top class restaurant of which this place is not. My wife’s small fish and chips was also very underwelming. 10% service charge added to bill so be careful although this is optionally. I did pay it because the service was very good.

Our last night of our holiday so we thought we go here for a meal. We arrived at 1800 asked for a table for 2. We were asked by the lady to choose one and we'll bring you a menu and take your drinks order.
Now it was reasonably busy, but there were people sat obviously waiting for menu's and to order drinks. The 2 members of staff were just stood chatting to each other without a care in the world.
Some people went and got the menu's themselves.
Although we were hungry I didn't think that we should get our own menu when were asked to take a seat and we'll bring you one. So after 25 minutes we decided to leave.
Also there's a service charge on the order, for what service must be questionable.
Obviously we're on holiday so it's easy to say we won't be back, but we won't.
We will definitely come back to the isle of wight, but not the Crab and Lobster.
We've had holiday's both home and abroad and this is the worst service we've experienced.
4 stars for the view.
