Thought we'd try The Crown & Sandys for our Xmas lunch this year & what an excellent choice it turned out to be! An experience in Excellence is the only way to describe it, ambience, service & food! |Meals were cooked to perfection, & prices well in comparison with other similar restaurants. For a Tuesday, the place was packed with diners, which holds testament to my comments!|One slight anomaly, though we ordered the Christmas lunch, superb that it was sprouts were missing...

We booked up for my Birthday at Crown and Sandys, having previously been July 24 for a pub lunch which was excellent. The mixed platter starter was excellent, then after my wife had seafood tagliatelle and I opted for the beef wellington main course with extra vegetables. We found both main courses, which were the most expensive on the menu, bland and without much taste. I finished off with a sticky toffee pudding, with honeycomb ice cream, which was very good. With two soft drinks the bill was £95. All I can say is we won't be back, unless they invite us back to try a main course that has more flavour. Be warned, if they do, I hope its better than this meal? The service was excellent though. Sandys - feel free to call us, as you should have our booking details.

I stayed with a small group of work colleagues and we all had a very pleasant visit.

My room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable.

We had breakfast too and it was probably one of the best full English breakfasts I’ve had in a long time! The bacon in particular deserves a special mention!

Staff were all pleasant & polite too.

Looking forward to staying over again, thank you!

If you like beef and all it's options then you'll love it, then there's fish and you're OK, anything else, one pork option, no gammon, or bacon derived option, opted for fish and chips, sweet, small portion, more designer than adequate, menu unimaginative.
Sorry I won't bother again.

Cracking place... i come here 3 or 4 times a month .. the rooms are lovely Room 2 is Special .. very nice.. NEVER had a bad meal.. staff GREAT ... place clean tidy ... very very nice

‘Me..time’ Pilates held our Gala Awards Dinner for 50 Clients here on Fri 17th Jan 2025. Everything was exceptional from the planning communication to the incredible staff on the night and the fabulous food. Thank you all so much, nothing was to much trouble, you! I strongly recommend!
