The most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in, the pictures do not do it justice. Everything about this place is amazing, the family who own the place are the most welcoming people ever. We will definitely be back! And worth mentioning our furry companion was also allowed to stay with us in our room which was lovely.

Place has a lot of history. We were welcomed by the super warm and friendly family. The food was amazing, best I have had in the week in England. The bar was warm and inviting. Room was comfortable and clean. Hot water was an issue in the night. Noisy building. But I would definitely still recommend.

There are few hotels we have stayed in, quite as beautiful as The Crown. Converted from a 14th century monastery, it retains a lot of the original features. It is situated in the heart of the village with great places to eat nearby. It is quiet and suffers from little external noise.||The car park is not well signposted and easy to miss, being just past the main entrance if the hotel is on your left. Look for a slightly inclined surfaced road a few houses along. ||Inside is clean, nicely presented and well looked after.||Our room was stunning, beautifully decorated and furnished. The bed was large and really comfortable. We could not in any way fault our room.||The owners and the staff were superb. Well presented and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.||It is a shame that you cannot eat at the hotel in the evenings at the moment and need to eat elsewhere. I say this, as if the evening food was as good as breakfast they would be on to a real winner. Superb full English breakfast. ||The bar is well stocked with a good range of beers, wines and spirits. The prices at the bar I must say are a bit steep though.||Not bad value for money overall.||An excellent stay and we would highly recommend this hotel.

Nestled in the lovely Cotswold village of Shipton Under Wychwood, which lies a few miles north of Burford, you will find a 700 year old hotel called The Crown, run by husband and wife team Andy & Anne-Marie Brian, with their two sons along with a dedicated team of staff, all of whom make you feel special and valued. Their food is outstanding and the level of service is warm, genuine and friendly. When you walk towards the rear entrance from the car park you can't fail to take in the drama of the huge manor house and the delightful gardens, before you arrive at the huge oak doors, where you are immediately swept up by the amazing spectacle of the old hall, with its twin stairwell to the open ceiling first floor and a huge fireplace. Go through to the main restaurant, where you'll be greeted at the Bar for a drinks order before being shown to your table. This place is just dripping in period history which, together with mood and ambience of the setting, makes for a very enjoyable and relaxing meal out.

What a gorgeous overnight stay we had at The Crown. The newish proprietors Andrew and Anne- Marie were very welcoming and all the staff were friendly and ensured our comfort was of paramount importance. Really good food and beautifully furnished.
The hotel was undergoing some renovations and improvements and I feel that the best is yet to come. Would definitely return.

Popped in for a last drink during our weekend away in Shipton. Beautiful pub, with excellent cosy vibes, and very welcoming staff. We were treated to the most delicious mussels - food and service were fantastic! Would thoroughly recommend!

Popped in for some drinks a week ago and what a gem this is. Once one of the hunting lodges to Elizabeth the first and a former monastery this place is steeped inn history.

Now run by a lovely couple, Ann Marie and Andrew, they are breathing new life into this place. I can't wait to stay here. It will be one of the prettiest hotels in all of Cotswolds, once all of the renovations are done (being done to a very high standard).

For those with dogs this is a dog friendly hotel and the owners has dogs themselves.

Highly recommend this place!
