Just had a lovely three night stay over new year. Warm and friendly welcome, friendly bar and restaurant staff. The rooms were modern, clean & tidy with sky TV. We booked a package stay with dinner, bed & breakfast and new year party with seven course meal and disco. The food was amazing not just on new year but all nights with plenty of choice from steaks, pasta, fish and a carvery, the portions were large and you won't go hungry. The hotel is close to the park and ride so no need to take the car into Exeter.
We've had a great stay and Happy new year thanks to everyone at the Devon hotel In Exeter.
We will definitely be returning in the future.
Happy new year to all.

Only stayed one night, but I was very impressed. |Easy to find, just off the A379. But be aware that roadworks have reduced the road down to one lane.|Lots of free car parking. Though at first we parked a distance away from reception. |Reception is located between The Carriages restaurant and the rooms. Check in very easy and friendly staff. You have to fill out a registration form on a handheld computer device. It's relatively easy.|We were allocated room 113. We parked right outside our room. Access is by a key card controlled door.|The room was lovely, very clean. The corr carpets were very clean and fresh. Could it be newly fitted?|For some reason, they gave us a disabled room. So we had a large , wet room bathroom. Brilliant shower. The only downside was that the sink was slightly lower than we are used to. Also, the toilet seat couldn't stay up.|There is a medium-sized fridge, full tea/ coffee making facilities. Free bottles of water, biscuits, and tissues. Folder full of relevant information.|Very easy to use heating system.|There are doors out into the car park. Very convenient, no need to unload the whole car. Did struggle with the lace curtains over the doors. They don't open fully. But we made do.|Plenty of towels , shampoo, and bodywash Soaps in the wet room. Took a while to find the towel rail switch. It is under the mirror in the bedroom. |Nice big mirror to use to dry your hair, etc. However, we found the plug/ socket a bit too far from the mirror. But managed. |The TV has all the Sky channels, a pleasant surprise. |We had dinner in the conference room, it was our annual staff party. Excellent service, facilities, and food. We sat with a chef, and he was full of compliments. Especially the cauliflower cheese. The serving staff did exceptionally well. We know how challenging it can be, guests moving around. It's nice to see bigger cups of coffee this year. |The bar copied well. Though there wasn't any Pepsi Max when we first arrived. I fancied a coffee at 2300 but was told the machine was off. I'm not sure of prices, our drinks were free.|Breakfast included in our tariff. Lovely furnished restaurant, plenty of waiting staff. Never saw a chef on duty, but to be honest, there was no need for one. There is plenty of choice .|Loved the whole stay, and I will definitely return.

In a great location to access Exeter. First impression was it looked like a motel. Unfortunately the rooms have thin walls so I was woken by people talking at stupid o clock in the morning! The other side of our room was a snorer!! So it wasn’t a great sleep! Plus if you don’t like a hard mattress this hotel isn’t going to aid you a comfortable sleep! It was too hot in the room and although there was air conditioning it was just too noisy to use.
Overall the place was very clean and the food was amazing! You had so much delicious choice of breakfast.
Sorry for a negative review, it’s the actual rooms that let it down for us.

Really enjoyed my stay here - really convenient to have a door straight from the room into the outdoors, good little gym area and Sky TV is an added bonus. Despite being near the road, I slept like a baby.

What really made this stay was the food and service - dinner in the evening was superb, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I had seen! Very rare to find fried bread and poached eggs on a buffet! Would definitely return in future

When lloking for one night stopovers en route (in this case from Devon to Oxford, after Exeter races) we usually opt for Premir Inn, but the Exeter PIs get rather indifferent reports, while the DH got a good one, which is justified. Room, though smallish, was warm (this was cold mid-Jan.), cosy, quiet and everything (except the safe) worked well. Dinner and breakfast both very good; staff friendly and efficient; and prices are reasoneble.

The hotel staff were great and room is nice.

I ate in the restaurant, very poor. Ordered the food, it came out wrong. Had to go and complain that it had come out wrong, but the staff are to busy around the bottoms of the bar area talking to each other. So sent my food back, but had to go to the bar to do this. They offered me a replacement, but no menu !! I then had to go and ask for another drink and they brought it but looked annoyed. They didn’t come back again.
I feel like I was the one at fault, shocking service and doesn’t do the hotel an favours.
