What a truly wonderful pub! Every single member of staff went out of their way to give great service. We had a group meal on a bank holiday Monday and felt well looked after and we all enjoyed a selection from the varied menu. The staff were super attentive to the needs of all the different ages of children. Then I found myself returning the following evening and it had a lovely buzz for a Tuesday night and I was served by more wonderful staff. It is clear that hospitality is valued here and I will be looking for the opportunity to return.

Lovely place to stay in a quiet village. This was my 2nd stay and both times booked 3 nights as explored the area like Waddesdon Manor with my husband. Breakfast menu extensive choice, hubby recommends full English and I had amazing homemade porridge. Evening meals were fabulous and chef didn't even mind if we asked for items to be mixed and matched. Staff very friendly, rooms clean and tidy. Little extras like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, bottled water, a small fridge with fresh milk and a great comfy hypnos bed, plus the WiFi does not buffer. Will book again for 2026.

Came last Sunday for a meal with my two teenage daughters and my husband.
Seated at a lovely table just around from the bar. Lovely friendly waitress.
We all ordered the roast, 2 roast beef, one trio of meat and one lamb. The trio of meat was lots of meat and only a pound more money. I had beef which if I am really honest it was a bit chewy BUT the Yorkshires are huge, gorgeous veg (I don't know how they cook the carrots but they were delicious), the cauliflower cheese was to die for. Wonderful meal, especially as I didn't have to cook or wash up!
The dessert menu was a little disappointing, mostly icecream so my eldest was very sad there was no sticky toffee pudding, and sadly they don't serve Chardonnay by the glass. But despite this it was a lovely meal and we will be back.

Wow what a place! First time here and booked an outside table for dinner with our family including a young baby and a dog. The new waitress who was only on her 2nd day working there was outstanding. She couldn't do enough to ensure we had the BEST service and all our needs were met. The food was fantastic and the owner came out at the end and told us about events they hold there too. She was also such a delight and extremely friendly. Highly highly recommend! We will be back for sure! Beautiful location and very clean too. Thank you!

My wife and I ate here a couple of months ago. The food and service were exceptional. The chicken and mushroom gnocchi with caramelised onion and the roast lamb were both superb. On a par with meals we've had at 3 rosette restaurants and actually better than some 1 michelin star places. The gentleman who greeted, seated and served us was the best FoH staff we've ever come across. A real asset to the business, I was surprised he wasn't the owner given his incredible enthusiasm, friendliness, helpfulness and overall demeanour. We luckily saw this place being advertised in The Pace School and so we decided to eat here for lunch spontaneously as they generously fundraise for disabled children. We are so glad to have found this place and look forward to visiting next week. If we didn't travel from out of county we would definitely be here more often.

What a lovely surprise to find this gem of a country pub. The food was excellent - plenty of selection along with a good wine list. There is plenty of outside seating in two different locations. Inside, you can sit in the more traditional part of the pub or walk through to a bright and airy conservatory style dining room with a side view of sheep/lambs in an adjoining field. |Service was good and friendly for the most part.

We visited as large group of 14 and the service + food was spot on! Very well organised, we arranged for the food to come shortly after we arrived as we only had an hour together as a team. Very efficient and the team were pleased with the food. ||The pub is in a lovely spot as well, great garden!||Highly recommend.

Lovely Sunday lunch but the service was slow. Took an hour for mains to arrive. Kept amused my watching the lambs in the field. The pigs in blankets were disappointing. Mini cheese was very nice. On paying was presented with weekend evening menu which looked very expensive and put us off coming for a future evening meal.
