Lovely tea room in the heart of Writtle. Had brunch on Christmas Eve, no less, and service was quick and servers were friendly. Full English, and the breakfast sandwich, are both pictured, and the food is nothing short of fantastic. Our usual Christmas Eve destination had closed down, and we have definitely found a new one - we will be back!

Visited here for the first time. What a lovely experience from the friendly staff and excellent coffee to the freshly cooked food. We will be back. Also useful to know you can reserve tables.

Asked for a Cortado to go. Staff weren't sure what it was but happily listened, understood and then made one of the nicest coffee's I've had in ages.

Looks really nice inside but I'm not a fan of dogs in places to eat.

We visited today on the opening day of the tea room. We cannot fault one thing. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious (and so was the cake!!). The atmosphere was lovely, the environment clean and cosy. There was high chairs and baby changing facilities also!

Thank you so much for the lovely afternoon we had. We will definitely be coming back!

They only opened earlier this week and it was the weekend so I understand that there will be teething issues. However, our experience today was really poor.

Our hot drinks came out sporadically and when the first did arrive the waiter told us that he wasn’t sure what it was and then placed it on the table and left. One of our party had ordered an oat milk coffee so it is super concerning that staff are not being trained on allergens and how dangerous this is to not know what you are serving customers.

Our food came out gradually one after the other but nobody had provided cutlery. I asked the waiter for this upon the last dish being given to us - he walked away and asked someone else to do this. After waiting patiently I ended up having to get up and ask again as our food was now going cold.

I had ordered the smashed avocado. The menu stated that it is served on sourdough bread. It actually came with normal white bread. I questioned this with a waitress and her answer was she did not know. I asked if she could find out from the kitchen- I never saw her again.

In all of this there was no sign of management and so we had nobody to raise our concerns with.

Came in today to try this new tearoom out .
I wasn’t disappointed, the staff were super attentive even though they were extremely busy. I had the lemon tart which was delicious. It had a wonderful vibe , and I will for sure be returning very soon. Well done to everyone, 5 stars are well deserved.

I visited today on opening day! We were sat quickly at a table and a high chair was provided for my niece. The food was really nice and well presented, I had a ham and cheese toastie and the ham was proper thick cut ham and not one slice of wafer thin like other restaurants do. We also got cake and they had so many different choices, and the Victoria Sponge was to die for! Will definitely be going back!!!

Such a great atmosphere with brilliant staff and their coffee is amazing, it's on another level the quality is extremely good, since ive also been back and tried the smoothies they do again not disappointed. I'd say if you want to try a tea room that upholds a high standard of quality this is definitely the place and very reasonably priced too 10/10 from me.
