Beautiful room, I think we were upgraded. One night stay. Had a four poster bed which was very comfortable. lots of space in the room, great view of the lovely garden. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Will definitely return. Pity we didn’t have time to book the spa.

This hotel gets it right. The staff are friendly and efficient, the rooms are very comfortable with superb beds and breakfast is wonderful. Delicious kippers on offer! The gardens are delightful and parking is easy. The hotel is in a great location and is quiet and easy to relax in. I cannot praise this hotel enough.

Booked a special break to include afternoon tea with a friend and our small dogs. ||Standard of rooms and food was high. Staff couldn't do enough. ||Exquisite treats in the room to include local wine, chocolate, sloe wine, dogs beds and treats plus more . ||Sherbourne is a beautiful place but a little too sleepy on a Sunday and Monday, many places closed. Amazing walls.||We shall visit again.

We had a lovely stay at the Eastbury hotel - all of the staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Great choice of dishes for breakfast and a lovely, comfortable room. |Excellent location right in the centre of town and all the Amelie’s within an easy walking distance. Would highly recommend!

Really enjoyed this overnight stay and will be back for a longer weekend one. Lovely room with two chairs to relax in, big towels, a shower that works nicely and dressing gowns. Really characterful. A few yards out of town so not much traffic past our front window but also means a few minutes to get to all the bars and restaurants.

We were staying in Sherborne to attend a family occasion and chose The Eastbury as the Luxury tag, Condé Nast and Travellers Choice endorsements all seemed to point to an exceptional hotel.|All I can really say is these reviewers need to get out more! I feel it’s a question of expectation management and our expectations were way beyond the actual experience.|The ownership of this establishment needs to invest to support the staff and guests so that the claims of 5* ratings and the endorsements can be met.|Briefly - We were advised in advance that the hotel did not offer dinner, we assumed that this was probably a temporary situation, it doesn’t appear to be. The room we had if typical was spacious but the furnishings, decor and bathroom were tired. There were no members of staff available beyond 21.00. There was no bar operating after 21.00. There was no functioning restaurant except for breakfast. |All these things need to be rectified if the above claims and endorsements are to be realistic and the glory days of this historic hotel are to be regained. |Alternatively reduce the price to something lower than the £185.00 we paid for one night b&b and manage the guests expectations. |On the positive side the setting is charming, the breakfast was good and the staff pleasant.

Lovely friendly welcome and on arrival we were given a up graded room, very comfortable large room, wonderful sheets and pillows, comfy bed, the bathroom was very large with a bath and separate shower, breakfast was nice and had a good choice and the hotel was within easy walking distance to the town .

I stayed here for one night on business, in late August for £175.

The hotel has private parking around the back and you can also access the hotel from the rear carpark and walk through a beautiful garden. The hotel is also very close to the High Street.

Prior to arriving, reception was excellent and in regular communication … as I was driving down from West Yorkshire. On my arrival very late in the evening, everything was clear and I was shown to my room. Not many hotels do that these days.

It was charismatic. I was tired and soon locked my keys in as I went out to find some food . I think the Hotel is going through restaurant renovation - not sure. Thankfully the local Waitrose was still open until 9 pm… , it was no trouble for the receptionist to open my door. The reception area is very nice, with quaint sitting room and games room with pool table.

My room (Cowslip) was lovely. Nice period features and decor. The room had an open bath and an ensuite which was down a small set of stairs and quite a quirky shape. Only downside was the shower head was dirty.

It was a shame there was no food or drinks on site, or a small bar, as that is often one of the reasons why I choose hotels for business; there were very few hotels in the area for me to choose.

It’s a lovely place to stay and I would stay there again. On departure, another receptionist and cleaner were chatting at reception, so the departure / goodbye lacked eye contact and meaning. Other than that, nice stay. Recommended.
