Lovely room, comfortable bed. Nice shower and great TV. Breakfast was good. One of my poached eggs was a little over cooked and had some shell in it but otherwise very nice. Dinner in the evening was very tasty, good quality and well cooked and presented. The pub is in a quaint village which has a farm shop. The room needs a mirror in the bedroom and a fan as it was so hot and we were very sticky throughout the night. Would recommend and stay again.

Sunday Lunch Superb!
Booked on line for the Sunday Lunch menu. Was offered a range of tomes from 12-6pm which was perfect for us deciding to book at 4pm. We were welcomed on arrival and offered drinks immediately as were seated. We chose starter of liver pate and stilton mushroom and the full 3 meat and sirloin main. We were not disappointed!! Plenty on the plate plus extra veg on the side and extra gravy in a pot as-well as having gravy on the meal which you don't tend to get at most places without asking for! Hot, tasty and lush! We then went for it by having the ice cream 3 choices and black forest gateaux. All superb. Staff so friendly! For all of this plus drinks £72 which we thought was fantastic value. Can not wait to go again to try mid week menu.

Had family meal here on Sunday, was generally disappointed by the quality of the food and the lack of attention to detail.
My partner's Risotto was bland, tasteless and served with raw leek, we complained and we're given a vegetable side to compensate.
My beef roast was adequate but small. No English mustard, it doesn't take much to keep things in stock, it's basic stuff.
We also had a child's meal which consisted of chicken nuggets and chips, that's it for £7.50, you need to be more creative with your menu.
Puddings were underwhelming and child's desert was served last? Why?
Some orders during the same family meal were wrong and menu prices were actually higher when we came to pay the bill.
On the whole it feels as though whoever is running this business doesn't take pride in their product.
I would not recommend going, you would be better off going to a carvery.

Lovely looking pub, but they don't seem to have a clue or a care!
We booked a room to go to a nearby wedding. Arrived and went to book in, but were told we couldn't until 1pm. The wedding was at one, so I was told we were in room 4 and the key would be left in the door for us. Off we went.
We enjoyed the day and got a taxi back to the accommodation at 11.30pm.
Walked up to the room to find no key.
Tried the door only to be met by the occupants who had been in the room all weekend.
Pub was in darkness and no answer to any calls. What to do now!!
Went to go and knock on a family members door and by pure luck came across a room with a key in the door, so I assumed there had been a mix-up and settled in for the night.
Lovely room, however the emergency lighting was directly over the bed and illuminated the room all night so no sleep.
The next morning we went for breakfast and when asked if we had a good evening we explain all only to be met with pretty much 'oh, we'll look into the light' and ' well problems happen when it's a group booking'
No good enough!!

I didn’t do very well on capturing photos for this place, we stayed here last weekend as we had something we were doing in the area.

The staff were super friendly from the get go, welcoming us and our giant dog.

They had a great selection of beers, which the locals all seemed to love. Everyone was really friendly in the pub too, we made a few extra friends on our first night here, mostly because of our dog.

The room we were given was huge, with a massive bathroom, no. 9, it was well heated had a lovely big bed and was very comfortable and quiet.

The breakfast was great both days and the dinner we had was proper pub grub but great as well. (Careful the Shepard’s pie is pipping hot)

We would definitely love to come back and explore a little more and would love to stay here again.

The accommodations used to be an old school, so even the Inn has a nice bit of history to it.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT
Very poor service, waiting for menus, one of us went to get them. Food a huge disappointment! What has happened to decent Sunday lunches with slices of lamb or beef, etc and wine sauce (not dreadful Bisto nightmare).
A glass of beer was brought to the table looking very cloudy, the glass didn’t even look clean. Luckily the manager noticed this and replaced it. That should never happen. The staff did not appear to have been trained properly.
NO provision for disabled people. Perhaps disabled persons are unimportant.
I was most disappointed and shall not return nor recommend this pub.
I wonder if people, generally, do not know what good food is if they are happy with such a bad standard.

Visited around 12pm on sunday and enjoyed our lunch in the beer garden.
Both the inside and outside of the pub are emaculately clean and tidy.
The staff were really friendly and attentive and looked after our every need.
The food was very tasty and the portions were huge!!!
I can't think of a better place to spend a Sunday.
