So glad the previous pub was busy, we got a real treat, nice friendly busy proper pub, the food was first class the best I’ve had in a long time! Specials menu was good too plenty of choice, great range of drinks and the staff were really nice, friendly and I think genuinely a really good place to visit, this is a definite return to pub!
Best of all dog friendly (well behaved) and two peacocks took the evening’s entertainment out front.

Had a lovely morning in Lacock, checking out the quaint village and natural beauty, but are tummy's rumbled and so we made are way back to Bath, and stopped here for a bite to eat.

Atmosphere: A very cool, traditional looking English pub. A nice social atmosphere. Well worn furniture and walls ladened with memorabilia. Can't fault it.

Service: Whilst it was busy, we were left standing awkwardly at the front door for ten minutes, with a waiter moving past us. Thankfully we managed to eventually find a seat.

Food: I opted for the Mozzarella Arancini balls to start. A creamy interior coupled with a nice crumb. The spicy mayo beneath cut through the heaviness. Nothing about the flavour profile wowed me beyond belief though. Needs something extra. Perhaps nutmeg?

Fish and chips was my main, or should I say fish and fries! The width of the ((chips)) was defiantly lacking. Peas were not mushed, and therefore felt unloved. It did feel a low effort display. The fish redeemed it. Flaky cod which was well cooked. I know it was from frozen, but this is pub grub were talking about here. With enough mayonnaise and ketchup, anything can taste good.

A return visit for supper - easy to book online.
Welcoming staff and so nice to see a pub that people can meet up and have a drink as well as meet for food. Busy, buzzing ambience.
Lovely nooks to sit in and we were in the snug that evening - not too rammed in and you could speak to your party with ease.
Food choices were good with specials available. We are one vegetarian and one carne and the vegetarian choices were different (nice different) than the norm.
We had a slight issue with one of the meals but our server was fabulous and sorted it without fuss.
All in all a great experience , highly recommended 👌

Great old pub in Corsham. Good atmosphere, great drinks on tap. Staff are friend and welcoming. Has outside seating area at the back. The decor inside is has a very oldy worldy feel to it.
I had a roast, slightly annoyed the chicken roast wasn't available however the nut roast a nice enough alternative. Definitely recommend it for a drink or food.

We have just savoured a delicious Sunday Lunch and pudding- so impressive. We will defiantly be back. Highly recommended! You can tell the quality of the food (all locally sourced). The chicken and beef was so tender, while the vegetables were the right side of crisp, fresh and Al Dante. The servings were just right- though we managed to squeeze in a pudding- lemon posset and bread&b utter pudding. OMG! Fantastic experience all round- thank you!
