The Garage Spa - Nr. Barnard Castle

We've just done the two seater cabriolet package and it was fantastic! All of the staff were super welcoming right from the point you walk through the door, the spa has just been refurbished and has 4 outdoor hot tubs, 1 indoor hot tub, a cold plunge tub, a steam room, a himalayan salt room and a sauna. There is a mud treatment you can do which is very reasonably priced and relaxing and the freestyle massage and facial were incredible (the facial is tailored to your skin and both my mum and I are glowing now). There must be a very reasonable limit on how many people can use the spa facilities each day as you never feel as though its over crowded or that you're waiting to use any of the facilities. We also had a two course lunch included, the food was soooo good and they were even kind enough to provide takeout boxes as I couldn't finish my two courses.

Overall a really relaxing and enjoyable day with plenty to do. 100% recommended and a huge thanks to the team from my mum and I, especially Ella as my massage and facial were phenomenal! Thank you guys!

Lovely location with excellent views. Staff very friendly and gave a tour on arrival and explained the facilities. Loved the outdoor area. Great facilities which were clean and tidy and well maintained. Relaxing salt room. Had a dry flotation treatment which was very relaxing. Would definitely visit again!

Excellent facilities and very helpful and friendly staff. They have everything you could wish for at a top notch spa. Really enjoyed our day here and would come again. Massages and facials were so relaxing and very much a treat using Elemis products. Beauty therapists were well trained and it was an amazing experience.

A beautiful and unique spa experience in a lovely countryside setting. I have now visited twice and it has been wonderful on both occasions. Never too busy, great in all seasons. The treatments are fantastic and there are some great packages available. We would definitely recommend a visit. My favourite is the outdoor metal hot tub next to the log store. Sunday lunch in the Hotel was also delicious!

Went today with a friend who purchased a spar day for my special birthday from Groupon. When we tried to book in May we were told the spar would be closed for a complete refit for 4 - 6 weeks, we were told that the voucher would be honoured, so booked for the 12th June, the booking was accepted.
When we arrived after a 40 minute journey, reception informed us the voucher had expired on the 2nd June and could not be processed, we asked to speak to a manager and no one was available.
The rude receptionist said her hands were tied she could do nothing and we had to go back to Groupon.
The fact they accepted the booking was not her problem, she could not let us in, because they could not process an out of date voucher. We needed to contact Groupon and request an extension. The receptionist refused to contact Groupon on our behalf and request an extension due to data protection even though we gave permission (our phone reception and internet was poor). The Stance was we cannot process the voucher because it was out of date, and Groupon has your money.
When we got home later in the day I checked the Groupon account, my friend has not been reimbursed and the voucher has been redeemed today, and we did not get our spar day.

My wife and friend travelled to the Garage Spa and although this was through Groupon with the Garage accepting the booking everything was arranged to attend the Spa in May only for the Spa to call back and inform us of refurbishment works going on. Due to this we informed them that this was a Groupon offer and the voucher expired in early June we were informed that due to the works and that not all of the facilities would be in use we could rearrange the date this was done for the today 12th June.
On travelling 40mins to get to the spar they were then refused due to the voucher being out of date which they knew about previously.
Staff no use and very unhelpful and rude at times and not interested in the customer saying the problem was with Groupon.
Definitely won't be returning.

This is a fantastic place to recharge your batteries. I was able to get a deal on a package before Christmas and came with my wife. The facilities are excellent with several hot tubs, a salt room, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, I think there are more but unsure. The staff were very attentive and were very knowledgeable with questions that were asked. We had a 40 minute treatment included which was heaven. I never knew I had that many knots in my back and shoulders until afterwards, now I feel great. We definitely will be coming back to use the facilities again as well as book further treatments. Keep up the great work!

Absolutely love this place. The views from the outside tubs are so peaceful. The food in the Morritt hotel is delicious
