We arrived very early and tired from travelling and were treated to great hospitality and a warm welcome. The room6 was perfect two flights up but great view and double aspect. Spacious and nicely fitted bathroom. Great smellies! The bed was very comfortable and black out blinds worked a treat. The view across the wetlands and easy access to the footpaths a bonus. Stayed two nights and had two great breakfasts. Would thoroughly recommend. We did not eat at the restaurant during the day as up for a wedding.

10/10 - Absolutely amazing Sunday roast - one of the best we’ve had! The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. There’s a lovely outdoor drinking area that’s perfect for enjoying a pint in the sunshine. The pub is set in a stunning part of the Norfolk coast, making it a fantastic spot to unwind after a coastal walk. Well worth a visit - we’ll definitely be coming back!

We stayed overnight in a standard double room with breakfast. We managed to park the car at the back and also had dinner at the hotel. Everything was perfect for us. Quality of accommodation, service, food and location. Room was cosy and very clean. Attractive pictures, lighting and great little coffee machine. Good bathroom products too.
A few years ago we stayed at the Harnser up the road and paid more for a lot less. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Good vegetarian options for my partner.
The local area is beautiful and fortunately we had good weather at the end of March 2025. All staff we dealt with were 5 star and very attentive.
Would definitely stay again even though we live only 40 minutes away.

I have stayed at The George & Dragon frequently over the last 9 months, whilst needing to be in the area. ||It is my go to place for a great stay. The location is perfect looking over the marshes. |Always a warm welcome from all the lovely staff. Rob, Aneta & Cara are so helpful.|The rooms have great views & very comfortable beds for a great nights sleep. |After a long drive they’d even offer to send my food to the room, so I could relax. Otherwise there’s lots of tables in the bar & restaurant next to the open fire. |Sunday lunch is one of the best in the area. The pie and mash my favourite for a mid week meal. My 5 year old loves pinching my fully loaded burger!||I’ll add photos so you can see the rooms and great food we’ve enjoyed at The George & Dragon. I can highly recommend

We enjoyed a lovely, well pepared supper at a reasonable cost. It was busy with a mix of locals and visitors which was great and gave the place a nice atmosphere. Attentive service and a warm welcome. Will certainly return when we're back in Norfolk.

We stayed for a couple of nights in a room on the 2nd floor. The room was nicely decorated with a great view over the fields behind the pub, and a small entrance way. The bathroom only had a bath - the shower is attached to the bath but you can’t stand up due to the sloping ceilings, but for a short stay, it was totally fine. Bed was very soft, good quality bed linen, and very firm pillows. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and we also enjoyed the veggie roast dinner. Service is friendly and for food, pretty quick and efficient. Would stay again but might try a room with a shower. One thing to note, is that there isn’t reserved parking for guests, so it’s just down to luck if you can park there or if you have to try the village car park nearby.

Had a one night stay whilst walking the Norfolk Coast path. The village of Cley is a sleepy, beautiful picture postcard place with wonderful looking buildings, some of Dutch influence. This large pub is in an equally lovely building that faces the salt marshes. I had a lovely welcome pint in the bar on arrival after a day's walking. My room was nice and clean and I had great breakfast the next day. My only gripe, and I have never seen this in any accommodation before, was that the room had no wardrobe or hangers to hang my clothes on to take the creases out overnight...a bit weird. Were it not for that I would have given 5 stars.

This is for Robert,Stewart, Cara, Sam and everyone else for making our stay totally memorable. Robert, the owner, who took time to listen to us (especially me) and to show us around the cottages behind the George & Dragon, all of which are high spec and definitely worth a stay. Stewart, the head chef, who went above and beyond, a really talented chef, great food. The room was of a good size with a shower, coffee maker and tv, the room was clean and replenished daily. Breakfast was very good-it is a pre order and was plentiful. We will definitely return, for the staff, for the food, for where it is. We have never been made to feel more welcome. As for Stewart-Gordon Ramsey, you had better beware. As for the sous chef, we both agree that you are a good singer. We will be in that one bed coach house soon-we cannot wait.
