The George at Backwell - Bristol

I made a last minute booking at the George as I was attending an event in Bristol. I thought it was a lovely place to stay, an unexpected find.||Upon arrival, there was plenty of parking and a warm greeting. I was given two delicious cookies as welcome gift. The room had the usual hotel room paraphernalia, but all high quality. I appreciated the Brew Tea bags, the fresh milk provided, and nice toiletries. The room was clean and quiet. I went for a room with a shower rather than a bath - the bathroom was compact but fine to use and the shower was great.|The bed was comfortable with very comfy pillows.|The breakfast was slightly minimalistic but all the components were good. Great drip coffee.||I felt everything was well executed and I'd have no hesitation staying here again.

We haven't been to The George for years, however, following such good reports we decided to go for a family meal. It didn't disappoint, pub, bar and garden are great and we all had a fantastic meal! The staff were great too!
Went back to the George last night for a small family birthday celebration. Once again the staff were fantastic, the food was really good, can personally recommend the Wild mushroom and bourguignon pie! Also, their initiatives with working with local food businesses is brilliant!

I only stayed one night but I had a lovely room, very clean, nicely decorated and a very roomy bathroom! There was even a little welcome gift of homemade cookies hanging on the door which were incredibly delicious!
Great location if you need to get to the airport. There's a sort of "do-it-yourself" breakfast which is available all through the night if you have an early flight.

Top pub with fantastic service and a lovely patio area at the back for drinks in the sun. The beef sunday roast was excellent - you can tell that high quality ingredients are used. Cauliflower cheese was standout and the “proper” sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I’ve ever had. Keep up the great food and hospitality - we will be back!

First time stay at the George, in Backwell .... it certainly won't be our last. Cannot recommend it highly enough ... superb bedroom, top quality tea and coffee provided.. free cookies arriving mid afternoon were a delight!!! Thank you for those!!!
All bedding, towels, shower gels etc good quality and spotless and thank you lovely staff for making us so very welcome!!!

Amazing pub with rooms .We stayed overnight as flying from Bristol .||We ate in Restaurant , food was really good well presented .Adam & Oliver were excellent members of staff .Keeping everyone happy even when , the bar & restaurant were extremely busy .||Oliver showed us to our room explaining how everything worked .| Our room was super clean and comfortable .Lovely hospitality tray and wonderful homemade cookies.||We definitely will be back .

We stayed one night before catching an early flight, we were so impressed we booked another stay whilst we were there! This is a great little pub and restaurant. The food in the restaurant was very good and the staff were welcoming and friendly. There was plenty of parking and easy access. The room was very comfortable and cosy and the early leavers breakfast was good. More than happy to recommend.

This place is a little bit special... Huge venue, sending out some beautiful looking food from the kitchen...

Impeccably clean throughout with manicured gardens and stunning rooms... This is surely a jewel in the Punch Taverns crown.

Came here to complete some work today, James and the staff were extremely welcoming... Thank you 🙂

Rooms of this calibre and comfort from as little as £67 inc breakfast items toast, drinks and cereal (I'm told they are not servicing hot breakfasts currently but this may change so best to ask)

This place is an absolute must if visiting or staying to fly out ect...
